Notice Patch Notes 05/01/2017

Hi Royallers,

We firstly want to apologise for the continued patch extensions. Our main goal has always been to have a stable and smooth transition over to the new source. Due to time management issues we have failed on that point. The game is not in the state we would have hoped for but we do not wish to delay the downtime any further, and will launch the server in its current state with some basic functionality. Therefore the game will now be going live at 03:00 GMT on 5th Jan 2017

This patch requires all players to download new files. The download links are available on the website's download page now. You must download and install the new setup file for this patch.


Patch Details

This is, by far, the biggest update to happen to MapleRoyals since it was founded in 2013. Quite literally every aspect of the game has been re-coded from scratch. Therefore, we know and expect there to be some issues upon launch. However, our staff team has been working hard and diligently behind the scenes these past few months and stand ready to help and provide timely resolutions to any issues that you may encounter.

As there is currently some functionality still not fully implemented or working, we will be doing daily Server Checks to update the server and explain everything that has been fixed or implemented for that day. We expect it may take around 7-14 days for all functionality to be fully in place. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Important features that currently won't work that we plan on implementing rapidly and steadily over the coming days:

Most other in game actions apart from those listed above should work. If you encounter any issues with anything not listed above please post a bug report thread so it is brought to our attention to be fixed in an upcoming Server Check.

Notable changes that you will see in the game currently and following the steady stream of patches we will be launching:

• Quicker response times when doing almost anything in the game. e.g. logging in, changing maps, killing monsters etc.
• EXP rate changed from 4x to approximately 3.2x to compensate for the change in EXP curve in v0.83.
  
• Many fixed quests, and a few new quests added, including some medal quests.
• NPC chat windows will now be using the proper text wherever possible.
• Reactor objects, e.g. reward boxes in PQ's, will no longer disconnect players if hit at the same time.
  
• PQs, boss fights, and other quests that utilise time-based systems should now function properly.
• Majority of skills changed to use skill data from v0.72:

• Removal of warp-to-FM button functionality.
  
• iTCG questline and related Crimsonwood Keep quests including the Badge Bounty exchange quest implemented. This means that items that were previously craftable at NPC Glimmerman must now be obtained through the items' proper iTCG questline.
• Level 64 Maple Shields will be available from Gachapon instead of being craftable through Mia.
• Items previously available from Albert in the Free Market Entrance will now be purchasable from the Cash Shop under USE > Mesos.
• Changing your hairstyle at Big Headward in the Free Market Entrace will now require a Royal Coupon from the Cash Shop under DONOR > Use.
• Zakum pre-quests now start at your 3rd job instructor instead of Adobis.
• Maple Island now utilises maps from v0.40.
  
• Regular Stores and Hired Merchants must now be purchased from the Cash Shop instead of Fredrick.
  
• You will now be able to vote for NX and purchase RP while still being logged into the game.
• Pets, Hired Merchants and Regular stores will now expire according to their set date in the Cash Shop.
• Pets will require the Water of Life quest to be completed for the pet to be revived.
• Maximum inventory space is now 96 instead of 100. Any items in the last 4 slots of your inventory has been safely stored within Fredrick to be retrieved once functional.
• Wedding data was unfortunately unable to be brought over to the new source due to compatibility issues.
• As Teleport rocks currently do not work, boat rides will currently warp you instantly to your destination.
• Additionally, although the Cash Shop is not yet functional, you should be able to vote for NX soon after the game has gone up.

We are looking forward to all the positive changes that will be coming to the community with the release of the New Source and following the many updates soon to come. We thank you, the players, for all of your patience and dedication to the server, and hope you will enjoy and bare with us while we finalise this massive project that has taken countless of hours and numerous revisions.
