@Pleiades Sick meme man. Must feel great to sit there soaking up free content for almost a year now, and then complain when your game is shut down for a few days. If you don't like what the Staff of royals have been working on tirelessly for the last (at least 6+ months? idk how long) then fuck off and go play another server buddy. I would absolutely love to see you do what they're doing, with thousands of virgin neckbeards like yourself breathing down your neck. Sweet post too, full of clear teen-angst, go take your meds and jack off a few times before coming back and reading your own post realizing how much of an ass you sound like lol.

 

Was support for Mac really removed? Literally started playing a few weeks ago because it's the only way to play Maple on my Macbook, and now I guess I have to quit. :/ Bootcamp and my Windows partition is broken on my Macbook.

 

Should the server be working by now?
Home page still says "Offline" and I can't start the game. I just get a blackscreen after starting the .exe and the game crashes after a while.

 

I cant help but feel the vibe like im reading some angry kids facebook post about how all the cute girls in school only date the jerks and you the self proclaimed nice guy are always ignored but you dont realize that its actually cause you talk and act like a condescending no it all child everytime someone speaks with you that they want nothing to do with.

Thanks for taking the time for the new source. Appreciate the effort. Change is difficult to accept and I'm not even sure myself whether I'd like them. Only time will tell.

To those ranting on the admins, they are sacrificing their time and effort for this and we should be grateful for that in itself.

For the admins, all we want is a stable server with minimal changes where we can all come back to without feeling unfamiliar. Really appreciate the effort in making the server more stable and smooth for all of us.

I've only played a short while and it's really enjoyable. I find that there's a much higher proportion of friendly players in this server than other private/nexon servers. It's this sense of kinship that's really keeping me here. I'm sure it's the case for many others here too who are mostly of the working/university age where free time isn't easy to find.

Incredible server. Glad to be a new member. Hope it transitions smoothly.

P.S. Created a forum just to comment on the "My character is already logged in" thread. But somehow I can't post a reply there. Could an admin help me with my character that's stuck?

Fug. Now I actually have to remember where the FM entrances are.

 

For me, this 'p4tch' ruined the game, I quitted MapleDestiny cause of this exact same reason... merchant expires, pet expires, no FM button, those shitty medals, dojo... now this is going to be ANOTHER v83 maple private server on the TOP 100...
Is a real 'bye' for the real nostalgia, if you know what I'm talking about...

so AMs are buffed on dmg but now they have to pt and kick their bishop every 2 min to gain max exp..

Am i the only one who favors the removal of the fm button? Tbh, i couldn't care less.

 

hmm I wonder why didn't you just add some new content instead of rewriting the whole code (it's not like the game had that many issues anyway).
It would have been much less work and trouble

 

When the new source was first started, the 'old source' server had a LOT of issues. We were d/cing daily, sometimes getting frozen for hours until an admin could wake up and 'defrost' aka restart the server. There were dozens upon dozens of glitches, some that would be way too hard to fix with the way the base code was originally written.

Over time, Matt has done a great job of patching up holes and fixing issues as they come. But they were just band aids in the long run. Like super gluing a cut and getting back to work instead of going to the ER to get it cleaned and stitched. Sure, it might've gotten the job done, but at what cost? The cost was that we couldn't do GM events, we had to constantly fix errors, we had to SC every 3-4 days or risk the server crashing and losing everyone's merchant info. We weren't able to expand and add new content, some bugs were nearly impossible to fix without causing other bugs, and we were limited in what we could do for holiday events as well. Each event we came up with we had to take into the limitations of the server into consideration. Two years ago the snowblower event would cause everyone to lag and d/c out for a good 20 minutes just from it spawning. Then the Valentines event did the same. GMs were stretched thin to constantly battle the millions of character issues that came up as a result of the source code being bad. Then we had people that would abuse the plausibility of the glitches to get free things, and there was no easy way to check. So we had to become strict in the policies - like the rewarp policy, for example.

On the surface, the game worked. But beneath it, the base code was a terrible mess and was coined 'shit source' for a reason. While the new source is going to be buggy and glitchy and missing features for the first week or so, in the long run it will be much more stable and give us freedom to do a lot more for the server as a whole. We'll be able to accomodate a much larger player base, more unique events, possibly more content too.

So much changes just like nerf to the game, I can see the almost ending of this game. FM warp, non-time-limit merchant are the decent features of this game, and yet, you GMs removed these conveniences which I believe won't affect the game that much. GMS is excessively buffed, which make the game so complicated now and lost the sense of adventure. And this server, especially after this new source stuff, which I think it's excessively nerfed, make it quite exhaustive to adventure.
