    IMO, the truth to these changes are much more sinister than that. The whole new source thing was created out of a desire to have a much more stable server right? One way of achieving that is to lower the amount of active users. So by making these changes they would reduce the funding / make the game more grindy/boring to play for new players, thus keeping the amount of concurrent players on the server stagnant, if not decreasing to an amount that's much more manageable.

    Wake up sheeple. Have you even noticed the number of controversial changes that were made? Expiring merchants, no FM warp, unskippable boat rides. 3 things. How many sides does an illuminati triangle have? That's right. Really makes you think doesn't it?

    I don't know how many people on here played back in the day, but I did, and I am certain there wasn't a warp to FM button and the boats were part of the journey.

    I really don't see the problem.

    Can someone explain the rationale behind the inventory reduction? As a hoarder and someone who is too lazy to repeatedly ship items over to mules, it's pretty disheartening to hear that my lifestyle will be made even more difficult.

    That's not why I'm making this post though. I don't understand the benefit to making the reduction. Is it a QoL change? A coding nightmare? Does someone on the modding team hate the number 100? As someone who is completely clueless as to the difference between 100 and 96, I'd be interested in hearing theories (or a mod response) on why this change is happening.

    Also boo pet changes. Can my Galiel receive full support if she's going to be needing Water of Life from now on?

    The long and short of it is that the game was actually only supposed to support 96 item slots and not 100. The source that we've coded has fixed the issue that was causing the extra four slots. The four extra slots were also causing some strange other glitches, if I recall correctly.

    And in response to your pet question - yes, all pets should be functioning properly in due time.

    That's fine. I assumed coding might have been the issue but the odd nature of this change and the inventory space being at 100 for so long led me to have doubts. Thanks for the response.

    The reason for the inventory reduction is because 96 is the maximum amount of inventory slots the client was designed to function around. Items in the last 4 slots can cause the client to have abnormal behaviour. This is why in the v0.62 client white scrolls would not get detected if in the 100th slot. And in v0.83 you can see that the intended maximum amount of slots is 96 by looking at the new inventory UI expansion button:
