Some bugs I found: Summons don't have a buff symbol on the top of the screen and you can't cancel them until their timer is gone. Chat (maple messenger) doesn't work, when you try to invite someone it doesn't do anything. In Kerning when you are on the top of the map you see no red dots on the bottom (like nobody is online) but when you go down you see people suddenly appearing.
1st one - Summons aren't a buff, so there's no buff icon to be cancelled. Not a bug, that was intended. Chat - thank you, wasn't known before! 3rd one - Not sure if bug or intended so leaving that open for Kevin/Matt.
are you sure this isnt a bug? you were always able to cancel a summon. ex. you summon bahamut, there was a buff symbol top-left that you can right click and cancel it early.
3rd point is intended action, or at least from what I experienced. You're too "far off" from the players, thus them as a red dot will disappear in your minimap.
From the man himself: [12/23/2016 11:42:06 PM] Kevin: From the skill list, "Bahamut No buff icon to dispell the dragon when no longer wanted." summons can't have a buff icon, as summons aren't buffs." That was his reply when I asked about it as well.
beholder is a summon and you can cancel that. how is a summon not a buff? pretty sure anything that gives you more damage or defense is a buff, and summons do damage. being unable to cancel a summon can be really annoying sometimes because they aggro mobs.
First bug: Summons aren't buffs (as previously mentioned). To get a buff icon to appear within your client, the server has to send your client an invalid buff which may have negative side effects (and, there's no telling what else uses that buff's data, so there would also be issues with summons overriding buffs, possibly). Rather than possibly confuse the client with invalid data (and the fact that GMS definitely didn't have buff icons for summons), we've gone with the no buff icon route. Second bug: Already known, will be working on Maple Messenger after some of the more prominent features are taken care of. Third bug: That's actually a feature, rather than a bug. In order to help increase your client's FPS, and to prevent sending your client data on where players are at (along with monsters, NPCs, drops, or anything else that is in a map), the server will dynamically spawn/despawn objects in your client as you move around the map. This will lead to some situations similar to what you've mentioned, but there's no good way around it without removing this optimization completely (which is something we definitely would not like to do).
I've noticed that you can only see the chats of people who's red dots are visible on your screen. And likewise, your chats can't be seen by the other person. So buddy chat and party chat is what my cousin and i used to work around it. It could get annoying but it isn't something i can't get used to. However, it might not be so good in fm where everyone's B> or S> chats won't be seen by everyone
Hmm it seems kinda confusing going to a map which looks empty then you see a lot of players down. Might be troublesome if you try finding maps to train (like skele and others) as you'll think the map is empty but suddenly see someone when you go to the other side. The summon is also kinda a trouble cause sometimes you misclick or want to cancel it (since it aggro mobs) though at least there will be no double summon bug. Another bug I found was with the NPC John Barricade. You can ask him about artifacts in your inventory. and when you ask about tiger fang it shows some bugged script. Also it seems impossible to buy more than 100 potions (I tried to buy 1000 ginger ale but it asked me to buy 100 each time instead). Not sure if it's a bug though
That is an intended feature, and information on it can also be found back in the sticky thread in the report bug section.
