So, now that most of us had a chance to check out the new source by now, let's have a poll to see what source people do prefer. Do NOT vote based on server stability. Vote based on which sources features, balancing, etc. you prefer. Also do NOT vote based on the fact that some features are disabled at this point. I think we all know what these features do and can decide our vote.
I don't think it's the right time for this kind of polls , when the new source is not even close to being fully functional. Of course some people would prefer the old source over the new one at this moment since they could do much more ingame without limitations . This could be good in maybe one month from now for more accurate/honest results .
That's why I made it clear not to vote based on the server stability. If it comes to ingame limitations.. What are you talking about? How are we being limited ingame at this point? Please don't be talking solely about the removal of the FM market button.
Tons of skills not working? Bosses? Trading, mounts, quests, character creation, channels, cash shop, scrolling, merchants? Doesn't sound like you've been online yet mate Anyways I agree with Lucky. Give it time
I added something to the OP talking about that. There is one thing that this poll and this thread itself clearly already shows and proves: The switch to the new source did split the community.
based on your join date I doubt you've even played on the old source? just by reading your reply to LuckyLook, it implies that you have little to no knowledge regarding the server, be it the old or new source. Some things might change aswell over time, after the basic game features are fixed. Things like the currently bad petri spawn which is a bummer to mages like me
Just because I joined the forum only some days ago doesn't mean I didn't play MapleRoyals before that. Of course I played the old source, otherwise I wouldn't be talking about this whole thing. To me the old source was way more nostalgic than the new source is. The new source has all those features that were already really new and were added not that long before the big bang patch. Also many of these features unneccessarily make the game more complicated (which was the reason why the big bang patch made tons of people stop playing btw.).
I dont understand how old source is more nostalgic when theres literally nothing different between the old and new expect how much smoother the game runs and a change in version number. Almost none of the new features and items that came with v83 were actually brought over for use on Royals. If anything the only real difference is now several PQ's that werent working on the old .64 client that should have been working are now working on the new source. What new features are you referring to exactly?
Ah right, I did forget about the medals and family system. Tho, that stuff is nostalgic to me. I played Maple long before Medals and the Family system, but it was this period of time I played the most of the game. The medals can be pretty in your face, but the Family system is out of sight, and not one you even have to take part in.
The only thing I liked from old source is adjusted maps, like Forest of Golem and GS2. The spawns there are greatly enhanced, which I think is completely removed in new source. I hope they will bring them back, be it the same maps or others, so that more training areas can be utilized by the big (hopefully stays true) population of Royals. Apart from that, you can pretty much find every other features that existed in old source in the new source.
