I don't know about any nostalgia since neo tokyo actually never came into gms at all. The city which came was neo city which wasn't a part of japan actually (and it came before ninja castle and the toad came) The city was in some other versions though (jms, ems, etc) I think the best idea would be to keep the boss like that and allow you to skip him by buying the wallet like it was, but maybe making it for mesos so you'll have the option either to farm the items for free or buy the wallet (which is the same like a lot of stuff in the game like gold teeth, rexton leather, buying zhelms, etc) or just make the toad etcs tradable so people could buy them in fm
I think adding new maps and monsters is cool as long as it doesn't introduce any new OP items that were never in the older versions. So for example, if someone wants to pretend the server is v62, they can just ignore the new maps and monsters that weren't in v62 in the first place. Isn't that possible?
If this happens, will the specila throwing stars and elemental pierce(?idk name earrings atleast) also be introduced??
We've had this content on EMS, and it was a lot of fun! Some of the quest items are extremely tough to obtain (even on 2x drop back then), which makes it challenging as well. Some teamwork is required to progress in the states. My only concern is that, even on EMS, the PQ's were extremely buggy, to a point where people didn't care about the content anymore :/. Edit: Toad boss is a nice addition as it gives plenty of EXP. You need to master the JQ to check if he's there as well, which makes it more challenging than looking for other bosses.
How much ass kissing would I need to do to make this happen?? I need it in my royals life <3 (I support this idea)
Could someone tell me if there is any end game bossing/grinding in this area, along with exp/hp values? Don't think I ever played it. From watching the video, it seems like a cool spot really. But I don't want anything that makes other maps obsolete like the chimney maps in NLC did, that's mainly what I worry about when adding new maps.
If I wasn't mistaken then this is the short guide i found about Neo Tokyo http://forum.nexoneu.com/showthread.php?456721-Neo-Tokyo-Guide _ This area is definitely an end game location with interesting boss fight (up to 30 people) and small boss fight. Most of the drop is not OP except for some buff potion which give a crazy amount of Magic attack / attack but only for a few seconds, also the Final Reward which is the Auf Haven Circle (20 slots , 1 all stats, 15 acc/avoid) have the potential of end game 40+ stats hat, along with Element Pierce ( 2 M.att , 1 all stats , 7 slots ) earring is not a big of a deal, Dragon Khanjar (thief 15 att shield) also on the drop table even though we usually got it from gachapon. The most special is the crafting items: Magic Throwing Knife (29 att darts), Armor-piercing bullet (22 att bullets) and tons of cool other weapons.
It would be great if it were possible to add some extra content like this once the bugs with the new source are ironed out.
Maybe I can finally expand the "endgame" horizon past skele grindfest, HT and solo zak with a new place, that I've never seen or been to before, to explore +1 for this idea
Alright, I'm personally not against adding new maps and cities, (even though I've never been to places such as Neo Tokyo so it kinda does interrupt the nostalgic feeling the private server was supposed to offer), but how come is the Nostalgic! song only applied to and worked as an argument on removing the wrap to FM button but now whole new maps that didn't exist back then? If having wrap to FM button ruined the nostalgia so much some of the people in this thread wanted it gone, then this should ruin it even more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just curious!
Temple of Time came out in patch .72 Ulu City came out in patch .91 (3 patches before BB what is claimed as the patch that ruined Maple" And considering i haven't seen you complaining about them why even mention anything against a new map now?
