All we ever wanted is to play MapleStory in a private server.

The old one had its own bugs and made most of us (if not all of us) to DC every hour or two on average.
I'd rather wait and play on a good server than DC every single hour.

 

You're playing like? A month? The only annoying DC was at Henesys, except that everything was good oftenly. In any server there will be here and there few DCs, at least you could play and enjoy hours aday and not waiting WEEKS for a skill fix.

 

I certainly don't miss doing four rounds of rewarps at 4 am because the server kept crashing but that's just me

 

You´re playing like? 3months? Why would you want the old source back if you haven't even tried the new source?
Just be patient i'm 100% sure when the new source is ready no one will even mention the old source again, since it's going to be lovely!

 

Haha man....... I guess not everybody has the patience and hope like you do. It will be 2 weeks soon and as I can see the server keeps being off and when it's on its in that mode where you only can sit and stalk ppl at FM, Henesys.

BTW trust me, there will always be talking about the old source since there will be many critical changes like APQ limit. And that stupid AF pet and storage expire thing. SMH ~

Highly doubt this. We've made many changes in the past that the community was not always as happy about, and non of those changes are really being discussed anymore.
Examples are us adding a cooldown to Horntail and Papulatus, or for example us removing super megaphones from monster drops.
Players didn't like it, they complained for 1-2 weeks, they moved on. The situation you've described won't be much different.
The majority of the people in the world lives by a out of sight out of mind mentality, where as soon as it's out of sight they won't think much about it anymore.
Don't expect people to remember all the changes we've made in the past, because they simply won't.

 

Well Dimitri don't forget that we're talking on most of the players's in-game money income, then what? Every second player will be a damn bishop/mage, the leech prices will go down and that will affect the whole market of this things.
I hope you're right anyways, as I said, all we want is to play and not sit at Henesys and ask at the shoutbox if the server is on and when the character creation will be reenabled again.

 

I really don't see why follow GMS and keep playin' like GMS like. Fk GMS. This server is great, awesome players and I believe also the Staff.
Don't compare or race others, IDK if I am the only one who sees that but everybody loves this server, not others, and there are many others.
Think about that, sleep on it, wake up your eyes in da morning, stand up and shout YES I CAN.
Just do it.

 

i do really hate when people speaking selfishly or like playing royals is the only thing they can do..

so yea maybe as a veteran you got used to the old source bugs, its really easy to spam to a gm when u get dced at a critical moment, but try to think about the good sutff, such as:

-easier life for the gm's since they said the new source is more stable.
-comfortably for the developer who wrote the code and now can change and fix things better.
-alot of new and fresh things which is really necessary in my opinion cause the end game of only bosses rounds or leeching can be erode sometimes.

that would be great if people could just check the forum once a day, be patient, and move on in their lives.. there are many things you can do in your free time, diffrent games or whatever..

 

I also certainly don't miss having to stop what I'm doing on my legits to help out players who d/ced during bosses for no reason other than shit old source code! I don't miss the constant round of ~gm's "i d/ced at ht rewarp pls" or other source related issues. I don't miss the lag, the limitations. I don't miss being unable to even THINK about hosting GM events, I don't miss broken chairs and missing items and stacking item glitches. I don't miss items falling out of the map (APQ much?).

There's plenty of things the new source will bring that will benefit everyone with some time. If you don't want to wait out the bugs, go do something else and come back in a few weeks, but don't complain about it when we've been transparent about all the changes. Every day things are being fixed.
(Also instead of asking the shoutbox if the server is online, why dont you, you know, read the shoutbox message up top?

LOL mate, I think I also speak for others, I'm the last one who will be selfish about this. Don't be sure whatever you hear or see it's true.
"They said" that's cool bro exacly like "they said" 24 hours at 1ST January and watch where you stand now.
We can't see any real progress, all day long, all week long it's off or there's only 1 CH and you can do nothing. Who promised ya it won't take another 2 weeks or more? Who promised you they won't give up and there won't be a serv wipe or it won't become closed due to those bugs/source complications?

What if I told you this server is few members's life? Got back from school or whatever and got NOTHING else to do, PC can't run other games, no friends? Haha familiar situation isn't it?

 

ONCE again I am NOT talking about me, I can tell when the server is on or off. I am talking generally, as common players.
And yes, there won't be a point going for a new source if there wasn't anything to fix. I am aware of the many bugs and DCs.
But god damn it hire another coder or even 15 more coders, think forward. We're stuck for weeks, serv isn't done yet, 1 coder, many quitted, new members can't create a new character, dirty rumors and such. Lets face it.

 

Then exchange 'you' for 'everyone'.
Everyone should check the shoutbox message when they're not sure if the server is online or not.
Everyone should wait out the bugs.
Everyone should be patient while we fix things.

And once again there will be a comment like: "Those who said they're quitting won't really quit, they will be back, all good, don't worry, 12 more hours the serv will be more stable.

You are correct that it is unfair that the said 1 day patch has been dragged out for quite some time, but I think the progress they have made has been visibly there. Everyone wants to play MapleRoyals, but there is 100% no way that we are reverting back to the very broken old source. This server is quite know for its nostalgia purposes, so they are trying to emulate the Maplestory that a lot of the older players envisioned it as, even if APQ runs are limited and some things now have an expiration date. Instead of focusing on the bad things, why not see how the server has changed for the better? Cheers~
