So I decided to join this game (I haven't really done it yet, I have no clue how to log in properly) to get a taste of what it was like before Big Bang, because I started actual Maplestory in September of 2016, so I am in no way a veteran. However, I have heard that Pre-Big Bang Maplestory is quite challenging in many ways, so I want to start off with an easy class before transitioning to something cool like a Corsair (which, by the way, became even more shitty ever since they turned Broadside into a summon) or a FirePoison Mage. Suggestions?
You could always start a F/P mage (they got buffed from the new source) first and get it to level 120, then create a HS mule (generally around level 81) to fund/leech your future Corsair
Buccaneer or just quit. They are truly the only playable class. Every party will want one and everyone else needs you. With you're versatile skills to your amazing damage range, it'll be impossible for anyone to ever call you a mule. Or do what the nib above me said
@Devin i wish i could say its real but its a troll :S but they are a funny class to play with their unique playstyle (iframe and the fact that they can still attack with just gloves xD)
@Devin LOL come on how can you take anyone serious with the way I was talking I thought it was pretty obvious @xKumo I like how you referred to me as a "it" ... we have feelings too! No raspext
@xKumo HAHA nah just fkn wit you. Just tryna spread some Bucc love #noticeusplz But yea make a Bishop or F/P or I/L with a lvl 81 priest for HS mule @UserRed so you can leech your other characters and make
You could try my path, play classes that very few people plays: Sniper,BW White Knight, Corsair. You don't have to worry about funding because the items and scrolls of these classes need are very affordable. Finding them however, can be an issue since most vendor the weapons belonging to these classes.
My first char was a corsair because I was never able to hit 120+ pre-bb, only got a battleship for a couple months before the Red Update changed everything. I played the game kinda casually at first, took it slow and was able to fund myself once I was able to do gachapon at level 50 no prob! Made my own gear, got some lucky WS from NLC gach for easy money to buy expensive gear I'd never be able to scroll. Found out about HP washing a little late but it was no prob bc I just took the time to figure out how to get my stats "back on track" so that if I wanted to go fight HT first thing at 155, then I can. Point is, just start off with whatever you want imo. If you just take it slowly and pick up the know-hows along the way, it'll all work out in the end. : ^ ) My path was like this: What I wanted to play (sair), what I thought you be fun and useful for my whole acc (bishop), another thing I wanted to play (buccaneer currently 71!)
Going paladin (Page white knight then paladin) Requires little to no funding in order to tank, and deal damage. its a very fun, and good starting point, and since the recent update, they buffed paladin. you will be very bored from level 30~70 if you don't get final attack (Passive) It can be bad on your damage per second, but if you don't care about that in EARLY game, then go for it! Because 4th job skills are not affected by final attack, you can use it to level up in the lower levels. Or you can go boring bishop, and leech everyone for money, while one shotting every mob in your path. (at 4th job)
unfortunately you can't create a new character or register a new account yet, that is being worked on, the game is still in testing and if you started a character now you won't be able to enjoy the beforebigbang iconic stuff like kpq cpq opq lmpq, there's also only one channel available now so I suggest to check the forums for updates every 3 days and start playing when the game is fully functional again(I'll estimate in 3 weeks). as for royals vs gms, it takes dedication to play royals if you've never played bbb maplestory, mainly because it'll take you a full day to reach lvl 30 and will seem really slow, but once you get used to it it's better than gms (you play with people, not solo, it's not pay2win,every job is unique, things are simple), no doubt! as for a job, decide which job you wanna main, if it needs hp washing(read about it in the guides section) to survive in HT create a bishop / f/p+hs mule and then fund it.
1. try all the classes. 2. pick the one you like the most. 3. make a mage to fund your picked class. 4. if mage is your picked class. 5. ???. 6. profit.
WITH YOU ARE VERSATILE SKILLS? I WANT I AM VERSATILE SKILLS!!!!!!!!!!!! MAKING A BUCCCCCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ☺
hero- no need to wash and crucial in boss runs mage- useless for anything else but money making bucc- fun, but less useful. cheapest class to git gud NL- really easy to get tons of damag... nvm dont even THINK about making a NL until you get 30b funding.
hero needs washing and is only crucial for ht bucc cheapest? all the attacker classes need the same boots/gloves/cape, as for top and bottom those cant cost too much for any job, the knuckle tho is more expensive than most of the other jobs weapons because theres a small amount of knuckles, they arent forged often. nl: need to hp wash to 9k which isnt that big of a deal, u dont need 30b, 5 will do, or just a bishop
I recommend making a Cleric/Bishop My Reasoning: I started out as a cleric, made a bishop. Sold a ton of leech, then was able to really fund a good NL and leech my own NL from 1-200.
