My Final Year Thesis Survey! Hello Royalers! Sorry I know I've bugged you guys with survey once(that was for my friend doing psych major) but this time it's my turn!!! I just wanna know about what you think of the annoying aviation security! I'd appreciate it SO MUCH if you could take a minute of your time to do this for me. Leave your IGN down below and let me know if you did! Tho inactive, but I'd drop by with a gift or fame when I come online! Thank you so much!!!! Have a blessed week ahead!!!
Hahahaha yeah I am! Final year!!! It's abit thick-skinned to do this but I really needed the quantity! LMAO RIP
Finished. Although as a Canadian and a lawyer, my view of aviation security may be influenced by my understanding of Canadian immigration law. I think one's ethnicity and cultural background also plays a huge role on the level of scrutiny received at airport securities.
So would you agree that the more you know, it's more likely that you'd cooperate? I work in the airport and every flight there's sure disgruntled passengers getting upset over security confiscating their item, or "traumatized" by the extra searches. That's why I'm doing this survey to test on public's level of awareness towards airport security, though I think my questions were poorly thought out but danggit I'm tired and just wanna graduate LOL. With the newly installed EO from Trump, no doubt the "discrimination" in the airport would increase! But that's another story for another day Thank you for taking time to complete the survey tho! Much appreciated!!! Thank you Yozich! You have a blessed week!!! Thank you so much Swanky, this means a lot to me
Here's some feedback on the survey: Questions about gender should have 'male', 'female' and 'other' as options. You can do more accurate analysis if you let people type in their exact age. Considering this questionnaire is about aviation, the question 'How frequent do you travel?' should probably specify that this is about traveling by plane. 'I am only familiar because I have been corrected' and 'I am only familiar because I read up information on baggage restrictions' should not be required questions since it assumes that people answered 'agree' in the previous question. 'I understand the reasons behind the stringent rules and regulations' and 'I am aware of the history behind every (major) rule in place' assume that people know the rules, but you didn't ask if they do. In the question 'I feel violated/humiliated, and even offended when I am selected for extra searches (body search or bag search)' you are asking too many things at once, people might feel violated but not humiliated. It might also depends on bag search or body search. People generally prefer a 5 point scale to a 4 point scale because there is no neutral opinion on a 4 point scale. 'I think the security standards should be loosen up a bit' has a typo and should be 'I think the security standards should be loosened up a bit' 'How frequent do you travel?' has a typo and should be 'How frequently do you travel?' If you fix these issues you might want to post the questionnaire to this subreddit. You can easily get 200+ responses here with a well-thought-out survey that is inclusive and not too long.
I completed the survey. Some of the questions could have been worded better, such as the how often do you travel one. I don't travel monthly, but I certainly travel more than once every 6 months.
It's cool, sweety! Thanks for dropping by! Thank you for your kindness! Have a blessed day! Woah, thank you for your constructive criticism. It's my first(probably last) time doing a survey, criticisms are more than welcome! You made a good point about having 'Others' as an option for gender, maybe even the exact age part, but these demographics don't really weigh anything in the end result so I don't find a need to request for specifics. But 'Others', added! Good point about not being specific about the mode of transportation. I assumed people know what I'm talking about since the header says "Aviation Security". I forgot people could mistake it as flying by hot air balloon. Corrected! If I rephrase my question and remove the word "familiar", would it be better? E.g. "I have been corrected by a security personnel as to what can or cannot be brought onboard the aircraft." & "I am well-versed with the information on baggage restrictions because I proactively read them up." I assumed that even for people who aren't aware of ANY rules, once they pass through the checks, they would at least have a slightest idea or even better, get corrected and learn the rules the hard way. It could be a 'Monkey See Monkey Do' behavior, whatever, I just wanted to know if people are aware of the reason/history or not i.e. 100ml L.A.G. ban happened because some idiot tried to make liquid bombs(reason) to take down aircraft in London in 2006(history), sharp objects ban because it can be used as weapons to hurt people(reason), and for hijackers to use it to gain control over the cockpit like what happened in 9-11(history). It's a 'I agree that I understand...' or 'I disagree that I understand...', an 'I do' or 'I don't' question. 'Violated', 'humiliated', and 'offended' all have negative hint to it. If people are reacting negatively to security personnel executing their protocols, then there is a lack of understanding somewhere, somehow. I'm using these words to draw emotions from people so they can give me the answers I'm looking for. I initially set my options with 'Neutral' in it, but decided to take it off after because it forces people to make a stand and I don't wanna take "no opinion" as an opinion. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat. But thank you for your feedback... I will post my refined survey up on that subreddit if I still don't garner enough response by next week! have a blessed week! Thank you for completing my survey! Demographics don't really affect my end results so just bear with me on that vagueness ^^;
