I'm sure many of you have had some. Care to post? I'll go first and put (a funny (in retrospect)) one of mine. I nearly drowned one time when I was swimming with a friend in a massive pool and was too embarrassed to call for help so tried to swim my way out of the super strong currents in the grownup deep end that I dared never venture into before because I couldn't swim all too well (was a young kid). In the end I made my situation worse and panicked even more, leading to naturally making unnatural noises as I thought I was starting to crossover. Lifeguard swooped in like an eagle and grabbed me with her human talons and snatched me from death like a fuckboy thief grabbing some old lady's shit. It felt like I was to lose to death that day but she was like 'nop' and scored a last minute goal that won the game yay!
I nearly drowned in a hole full of dog poo when I was 10, luckily my neck was above the liquid level, lol, happened in a pretty old wooden neighbourhood where my cousins and I were trying to take a shortcut to get to a playground when I unluckily stepped into the hole full of dog crap, no one else knew about the darn hole at all. Ended up with a scar on my right knee, almost needed stitches. Pretty shitty experience if you asked me. Who knows what would have happened if I was 10cm shorter.. News flash: 10 year old kid drowned in a hole full of dog crap!
Fell into the open sea from a boat. Even though people who were with me got me back to the boat in a less than 30 seconds, it was scary af.
Ironically enough mine is also an almost drowning... Out riding some waves on the beach with a foam board (boogie boards we call them) and a large wave came out of nowhere and shoved me under. Tried to get up and another wave pushed me down before I could breathe. The second wave successfully pulled me into a rip current so I was pulled out to a deeper end where I couldn't touch the bottom. Thankfully it's drilled into our heads here about swimming horizontally when in a rip current, so I was able to get out of it and catch my breath. Scary moment though. Other than that : being a dumbass and walking around outside during Hurricane Charley. Hurricane force winds around picking up debris, suddenly a tree cracks and falls just behind the house where I had just been. Not to mention the half dozen times lightning tried to strike me while I've been caught in storms. Gotta love Florida weather!
I think it's safe to say that we all almost drowned haha (I nearly did as a kid probably also why I'm a bit scared of large open water) But that weather stuff sounds messed up altho I'd like to chase a tornado one time
Slipped while bathing and head landed directly on the 90 degree edge of the divider on the floor. In another (funny) incident, I disturbed a wild dog and it leaped towards me, but it doesn't stops there. My metal gate was open so it leaped into it instead, which then caused the gate to slam shut to my face and left me with a few permanent scars on my forehead.
Sorry to hear about that. Yea, it was my fault cos i was playing with soap...perhaps it wasn't as fatal cos i was still a child? Not quite sure but the hairless-spot scar remains on my scalp eversince.
I just remembered another incident:- Was driving back home from lunch when an elderly driver knocked into my car because he dozed off (it was freaking in the noon). The impact was at the side where I am seated, and the car almost flipped. Thank goodness that elderly dude wasn't driving fast (possibly around 30-50 kmph) and I got out of the car unharmed, and lost a tooth.
When I was about 10 years old I was in the pool with one girl I used to be friends with and we decided to play lifeguard. Back then I did not know how to swim well at all, unlike now. So she pretended she was drowning and I dove in after her and grabbed her and started dragging her back to the side of the pool. This was also in the deep end. Now she goes ahead and grabs me and stands on top of my shoulders, forcing me down deep into the water. Not only did this massively hurt my ears because I went down deep but I panicked and let out every ounce of air I had in my lungs. Needless to say I almost drowned that day.
I died once and went to heaven. Edit: I should probably explain. Spoiler: Read more Any of you see that news about Jimmy Kimmel's son? He had that heart condition? I had the same thing, and ~24 years ago I had surgery as a wee baby to have it fixed. They stop the heart, I was on bypass. When I was like little, like 3-4, I was in the car with my mom and I was barely speaking ya know, little and all, and I told her, "I died once and went to heaven and grampy was there". She nearly drove off the road. We started going to church again more often than Christmas and Easter because of that, to my disgruntled objections. My grandfather on my moms side died a couple weeks before my surgery, and from what I can gather he loved me (duh, who doesn't love grandkids), but my mom always said if he could have been there in the hospital with the rest of my family he would have been.
Almost.. - Drowned while taking swimming lessons (no supervision). - Fell off a log while crossing a 20ft+ high gap while hiking. - Crashed into crazy drivers multiple times. - Death by sickness unable to be diagnosed by hospital. - Fell down several flights of stairs on a rainy day. - Let go of unfastened safety rail on roller coaster with loops. But I did die to Horntail several times.
Not really in near death situation but in critical situation where I got hit by a car, and being unconscious for a half day in hospital, the only thing I remember is 'oh I couldn't slack anymore, time to wake up' and miraculously I woken up from unconscious stated....
I once had a strong bradycardia (low heart rate). I don't remember what the exact pulse rates but supposedly I was veeery close to falling into coma and/or possibly dying. I was at the cinema with my family and when we were heading to get our seats I basically collapsed on the floor near the snacks area out of nowhere. I couldn't even speak to warn my family something was wrong with me. I tried yelling, but don't know why just preferred to lay down in calm... Now that I think of it it was super weird... it was kinda like giving up and just wanting to rest in peace (literally). Thankfully they noticed. That's the worst I've felt in my whole life, cold sweating is awk af. This was about 6 years ago and to this day I'm still clueless to about what caused it, don't have any heart diseases or any strange condition.
The heart is a strange thing. There was a story of a super fit college football star who decided to just try cocaine once with his friends. He's been fit all his life been clean all his life never ate badly. He tried it and just dropped dead later that day. Weird stuff. Be careful.
I sliced my finger once while cooking and I thought I was going to die and passed out briefly but I washed it and put a band-aid over it and I was fine I'm a super paranoid person about injuries and illnesses and stuff so haven't really had a near-death experience lol
