Dear all, Not sure if im asking in the right section, but i've took a really long break from Maple Royals, about 1 year+, I've updated to the latest 19 APRIL 2017 client by re-downloading and installing. Upon login, i see that SCANIA server has NO PLAYERS at all across CC1 - CC20, anyone mind updating me what had happened and whats going on? Thanks a bunch seniors.
It looks like there are no people online, because that's not coded yet. The new source was released on january 1, but sadly it went completly wrong, so basically Karven is rewriting the code from scratch. The server is slowly being updated as you can see in the "Announcements" thread. Lots of people are taking a break from the server since it's not 100% functional yet. I believe that the server once more stable people will return and start playing again.
Yeah I had the same confusion when I came back about a week ago after a similar year long break. The reason for the empty server is because the dev team has been working on new source code for the server that is being written from scratch. The new source code should be able to fix a lot of problems that weren't fixable with the old source code because it was too out of date to be modded properly. They rolled out the new source code without a lot of features such as cash shop, gach, new character creation, account registration, merchants etc... and it has taken them a lot longer than they thought to implement these essential things. The cash shop update came out only two days ago. So basically a lot of people have left until the new source code has been updated with these things. I will note for those reading this thread, since the cash shop was released, the staff have noticed an uptick in players concurrently online.
Thank you very much for the kind replies, so basically, its the players that are taking break that causes the empty server instead of some sorta error im facing yea? One more last thing, if i were to play along while the server is being recoded, will my 'progress' in the game be 'saved'? Levels, Mesos, Eq hunts and what not XD PS: since i kinda can't wait to play lolol
Yes. Of course. Personally, I've started leeching again, and of course trying to find bosses to kill. So go online, gacha, and train like how you once used to! @John I'm curious, what are the figures? Before CS it was around 100+ i heard.
Also the channel fullness bars have not yet been coded, so they are not in any way an accurate representation of how many players are on each channel. We currently have 200-300 players online.
Just a suggestion... If that feature is as ezaf as scrolls, perhaps it should be in one of the features to be fixed along with scrolls and character creation? Because as a player, the fullness bar really says a lot about the logged in population...and I would have the urge to want to enter the game and do things when I see channels are experiencing heavy population, signalling an active community, as compared to all at one bar. Besides, we as players won't know exactly how many are online...because the feature isn't available on the website (hopefully for the time being). Maybe that's how those who have been inactive since new source will be attracted to come back?

Speaking of which, my skill points were all wipe and i completely ruined the build now, i checked the cash shop for AP RESET but i cant BUY it? I'm assuming the coding hasn't reach to the SP RESET state yet?
When we first discussed new source, we promised everyone a full SP reset since some skills were buffed. That's why the skill reset. AP resets aren't working yet, no.
