''Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D''

Hello guys,

I have downloaded everything fine, but when I try to start up the MapleRoyals client I get this message: ''Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D''

Any idea how to fix this? I have already tried running the setup.exe, but none of the frequency ranges work.

Are you using parallels or vmware?

 

No, that I know of I don't, since I also do not really know a lot about it.

 

Try running it in Windows 98 comparability mode.

 

That didn't work, sadly it got me another error. Though I still thank you grateful as I have found a solution. By changing another compatibility setting I am now able to run it. I have enabled the box of ''Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution''.

So for anyone else having the same problem as me, try that and see if it fixes it for you as well! I still get errors sometimes but just keep trying and playing with it.

 

seems that Gr2D is something wizet/nexon made up.. no results when searching online.

someone did say to run the setup file in your game files to fix it though. you can try that to maybe not have to play in such a low resolution.


Just wondering, what resolution is your computer in right now?

 

Already done that as you could already read, no success.

I have 2 screens. First one is in 1920 x 1080 and the second in 1440 x 900.

I play minimized anyway, though I would still want to try and get a higher resolution, but v0.62 only supports low resolutions anyway right.

 

set open in 800x600 in compatibility settings works for me with same error

 

have you tried 1024x768 on one of the monitors? it wouldn't also be an issue to maple that you're using two monitors would it?

you also have direct X 8 installed correct?

No that isn't it, multiple monitors go perfectly fine with Maplestory. Have been playing with them for a long time. I have DirectX version 11 and my drivers are up to date as well so that shouldn't be it.

I have also done my research, checked the internet before asking. Done all that, but no success. Thanks though.

I am having the same problem, I looked at all the other threads related to this, gave it a shot and it is still not working. Does this mean I cannot play Royals on my parallels?

 

Oh. My God. Thank you soooo much for this link!! I've been trying to get the Gr2D issue away since 1 month searching google to death but you saved me !! U should make a thread about this or something for people who got same issue.
