On a positive note, this server is really fun and brings back the nostalgic moments of playing old maplestory. This server was so fun to me, I recruited many of my in real life friends to play it. All of my friends really enjoy the whole mapleroyal community and just the fun experience. My biggest problem with this server has to be the staff. Majority (not all) are very arrogant and don't know how to treat players. I would not have a problem with this if you guys could keep the server running for more then 7 hours. To be honest, if you are going to be arrogant and straight rude to players, at the very least be able to code a server. Great game.....horrible staff Thank you
I would describe the Maple Royal staff as a fat girl with a bad personality because you guys can not code and you are not nice.
I've had the exact opposite issue. Every time I've had a problem, whether major or minor, the staff have been incredibly kind to me. Two of them have even gone out of their way to help me out with minor things they could have easily overlooked or ignored- and one of them recently sent me a very kind message when I posted a rant after a long day, and it really made me feel a hell of a lot better. I've been here at least a month now and these server issues are recent. They've been quick to fix some bugs when they pop up and they encourage us to report any that we find, so they can look into those as well. They've been accommodating as much as is fair when the server issues or glitches mess things up (see the zakum d/c thread, where they're letting the group re-fight the last body to make up for a glitch that transported everyone out of zakum while fighting it). IMO, they're just humans like us. They don't promise to be super human robots, able to put on a smile in the face of harassment or annoyances. They do their best and I give them credit for that. They're doing the best they can with frustrating server issues and I'm very sure their patience with the issues are running thin. Plus, every single one of them are volunteers as far as I know. None of them actually earn a living off of doing this- it's all in their free time.
I was feeling a bit rash and angry after the server went down for the thousandth time this week. Some in game staff have been very kind and nice such as Chelsea, but then I have seen some staff members treat other players really badly.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. At one point I felt like quitting because of some of the staff members without common sense. Sure they have good sides too, but I am not a fan of this staff. ''but we're not a fan of you either Myungsoo''. Well we can't expect to be liked by everyone can we? Now I just learned to ignore these biased comments that I have seen them writing. Just try to avoid it as much as you can. At one point I started arguing but it's not worth it in the end lol.
To be fair, they've been very transparent and up front with the fact they KNOW they're having server issues. They've asked us to be patient and to expect random shutdowns while they figure it out. All we can do is be patient and wait it out. For the record, I've also seen people be very rude to the staff members, trying to tell them what to do and how they should run the game, even harassing some of them. Us players aren't all innocent either. Neither are the GMs I'm sure- but you know what, we're human.
We're not talking about them having issues we're talking about ''them'' being ignorant. PS I'm not supporting anyone, I don't know the guy and this is all coming from me.
the server was a lot more stable, all these shutdowns and what not are recent, so just be patient ! and hopefully the server will be back to its regular stability
I'm not posting on this to bash the GMs in or anything alright. I'm just saying, at least due to some of MY past experiences with A GM, I could agree with Forecast to a point, and definitely with Myungsoo. I don't understand why the GMs have to be so strict on every single issue... and also if you and a GM are going back and forth on something, you will most likely not win, even if you are right.. and the higher end of the players in this community will still back the GMs praising of some of the behavior that any person with common sense knows is wrong.. for what? To get on their good side? Now were just telling them hey do whatever you want we wont do anything about it. Especially after reading Oldie's ban appeal. i strongly believe he should be unbanned and he shouldnt have been banned for what he had gotten banned for. i have to get to work now so Ill be back later. by the way NOT ALL THE GMS ARE BAD. some are actually pretty nice just some others though
If you have any screenshots or chat logs you can provide a member of the admin team (Matt, Amy, Dustin, and myself) with, we are certainly more than willing to look into the issue and take any action necessary to make the playing experience better for everyone.
This 'great game' you speak of was made by the very same staff you dislike so much. I don't really understand that. I get that you're upset that we're down so much, but I can assure you it's more of a drag to the staff than it will ever be to the players. We have to fix these issues, you do not. Not trying to sound rude, I just feel like you are thinking black and white here and are not considering the hard work we put into this server to keep everyone happy. We get topics like these every once in a while. It makes you arrogant more than anything, really. Edit: Also, what john said. We can't monitor everything that our GMs do so if there's a problem with any, we need to hear so from players (privately if necessary).

You guys do work hard and we appreciate all of that but some things that are written by the staff members are ignorant and that personally bugs me, I said it before. I wanted to quit because of it. But I learned to ignore the incoherent comments that I have read. Also this makes him arrogant? It makes him proud of himself? Did you even look up the definition? I don't think this is an arrogant post since he is in no way expressing self reflection. Perhaps you mean unscrupulous since he is incognizant about the entire complex.
That's not the definition of arrogant at all. I'm confused. EDIT: Being conceited is completely different than being proud of yourself. Being arrogant is a bad thing.
