I'm sorry to hear that it bugs you, but what can we do with this information? 99% of the time it goes like this: - The staff is so and so, but not all. - I don't want to name any names. What can we do in that situation? Literally nothing. In the ~Five months I've worked here I've never gotten a single PM from a player providing me with actual feedback on a staff member. I can't take any accusations seriously that way. Then again, some people are just not compatible. How professional and nice we may try to be, sometimes situations just don't work well. Welcome to life. I'm pretty sure the word arrogant was properly used here. Call me crazy.
Go see my posts in that thread about spamming and tell me I'm trying to suck up to Matt. Like everyone said, if you have proof, prove it. But I've never seen proof of any of the staff mistreating players. Sure, sometimes the staff can be frustrated when players mistreat them or are just being complete assholes, but they're human just like the rest of us. If I went up to you and said you're playing your character wrong and to do it my way I doubt you'd take very kindly to that.
There's a fine difference between arrogance and confidence. Arrogance is considered with a negative connotation, confidence is positive. But to much confidence can lead to arrogance. Also, everything you read in the internet is true right? As long as it coincides with your own personal beliefs that is.
All my encounters with staff was positive. They responded to my ~gm messages, as well as to subsequent whispers and weren't arrogant at all. I've chatted with them only a few times, though.
So wait, John if we have a complaint about the behavior of a GM w/ screenshots and all, but there aren't any other GMs on at the time what do we do?
PM it on the forums to an admin. We don't have to be in game and we can view it whenever we want/need to.
I think he meant when admins/gms flame other players or put them down when they could've acted more professional and gave out straight forward statements and ignore any further activity to hush it down not to throw in more leaves into the flame.
I think it's necessary that you keep in mind that the staff are providing a completely free experience, they're taking time away from their lives to provide to all the players which that, by itself, is tremendous. The server also recently experienced a large influx of players which to the staff can be overwhelming and unexpected. Also keep in mind that there's only a handful of staff while there are (I'm assuming) thousands of active players with usually 300+ online at all times. They have lots of pressure on them and I think it's necessary that you guys appreciate the solemnity of their devotion, especially through times like this.
What I think players need to bear in mind is that we are not professionals. We are volunteers doing the best we can, sometimes under very stressful circumstances. EDIT: Ninja'd! =)
