hello. i'm very concerned about my anti-virus and windows defender being off all the time. i say this because whenever i turn one of them, on mapleroyals just goes "poof" and i have no access to it. Now here's the dilemma. if i can't play mapleroyals with my anti virus turned on royals gots to go but i want to play hope this can get resolved as in what can i do -.-
I'm going to hop on this and say anti-virus is definitely not needed when having a computer. I haven't had it since I was like 10 years old and I have never had a virus. Actually, the only virus I have ever had is while having anti-virus. And let's just say AVG Free was complete shit and did not help. Had to take other measures. Just don't click advertisements and don't open e-mails from people you don't know. If you see an ad you are genuinely interested in, Google it instead. Also no, your dick will not grow 5 inches. Don't click that one either. Also there are no hot singles looking for a f**k in your area. Don't click that one. Furthermore, no hot Russian girls want you.
You can uninstall your A/V to speed up your computer. Or add an exception, or allow to the MapleRoyals.exe If you uninstall your A/V: Add the MyWOT add-on to your browser. This is an online trust database for websites. It displays circles coloured based on trust-ness from red to green. Even if a link is green and you want to download something from that website, first click the circle and check user comments. There are many GREEN rated sites that have comments that say malware etc. As well as RED rated sites that have good comments. If you want to avoid tracking cookies online, add the Ghostery add-on to your browser. (Some A/V's delete these for you.)
Sorry for taking this thread a bit off topic. Ekul you have to be careful of drive-by downloads. This can occur when the website uses a vulnerability in your browser. It could be caused by any addons you have or any resources the browser uses to display pages. You can download a virus just by viewing the page for half a second. Also another thing, disable all browser addons and extensions except for the ones I offered to download. If you're using firefox there's a new feature for addons where you make them "Ask to activate" a few other browsers have this as well. Be sure to keep Java SE and Flash Player on "Ask to activate", this way you will only activate it when you are watching a movie or playing a game. Many bad websites will use flash or java to load trackers, collect information about your computer, or deliver a malicious payload due a vulnerability in the software.
