Defame Highscore List?

We have a fame highscore list. Why not a defame highscore list?

 

Because there is no reason whatsoever to encourage behaviour that leads to a high level of negative fame.

 

Defames are cool tho, imo. I always go for Defames on my Thieves.

The players with MASS amount of defames are rarely players who got those from negative behavior.

The same way players with mass amount of fame aren't necessarily charming, popular, good samaritans.

Buy your fames. Buy your defames. Usually how it goes for those far left or far right.

OT: I think this would be neat to implement.

 

I buy my defames, just as others buy their fames. Not all defames mean that someone is a bad person. I personally like amassing them, and feel left out that there isn't a high score table showing that.

 

Pretty sure you've heard enough reasons as to why we would like a defame list. Why not create a poll?

 

Why is there a fame ranking list? So players can be recognized for how much fame they have amassed. It makes people feel good to see their characters on a list.

Of all the years I've spent playing this game, I have never met a player who both had a large amount of defames and was actually DESERVING of those defames. They bought them so that they could be distinguished differently from players with high amounts of fame.

 

Because a high ammount of fame doesn't necessarily show the most popular players on the server, just the ones who can spend money on it. I'm all for implementing a defame ranking list, even if it only consists of 10 players.

I never spend my fame per day in exchange for money. I fame/defame someone deserving. If I happen to run into someone with a mass of defames that turns out to be a cool dude/dudette, I ask if the player wants a fame or a defame, and usually they will request a defame as a token of gratitude. The argument for having a fame ranking list is the same as having a defame ranking list, imo.

Given that the staff have a lot of urgent and important issues to deal with right now, how about creating an unofficial ranking here in General Discussion for people with high numbers of defames?

 

I guess the fame system in MS had a certain purpose, but in the end it's just a number. Especially when you can just buy fame (or defame) from people.

If people want to go for defames, that's fine. But having a defame ranking would just be silly. To me, it will look like a "ignore these people because they are dicks"-list. That's something I'd personally not want, at all. That's just my opinion, though.

 

How many people actually look at a person's fame to determine whether or not they're a nice person? Or fun to play with?

"Oh wait guys, this guy has -21 fame, he must be a jerk. Better not play with him."

I think it's ridiculous. A similar effect can be seen with mass amounts of fame.

"Damn, this guy has 1000+ fame. Why would they waste their money like that?"

As Dustin stated above, in the end it's just a number. Those with a high number are listed on the Fame high score list. Why can't we have a high score list for the "highest low number"?

I guess I just feel left out.

the whole idea of 'buying defames' is just something to make otherwise unremarkable fame numbers stand out just because there's a minus (-) in front of it.

if you have negative fame i'm going to assume you're a prick nine times out of ten because that's what the system is for.

 

I'm not sure why this is such a big deal. Having negative or positive fame is just a choice one makes when starting their character. I can understand that the staff is busy doing other things, but I didn't think they'd look down on the idea of it. o.o Like damn.
