So I hope this thread doesn't become a complete failure, or that this topic hasn't been covered in a different thread yet... But I'd like to ask you guys; where does your ign come from? If it's your irl name then that's pretty simple stuff. But for the peeps with weird, unique, funny or obscure names, I'd really like to know :3 and maybe throw in what your thought process behind creating it was To start, my name comes from my unhealthy addiction to "galbi", a Korean marinated beef rib dish that I loved and currently still love and eat today. I just came up with this name randomly and used it as my ign in gms back when I was like 10 years old and just stuck with it until now. Figured that if I was gonna get a nostalgic feeling from this server, I might as well go all out haha I'm sure that some of your guys' names oughta be funnier or a lot more interesting than mine So yeah, tell us! XD
Idolic - Ido is my name and can be also Idol, the end tho is just an idea from someone i once met Elbow- elBOW, should have been a bowman, but since i have the wipe ring on it and I wanted a night lord it's now a night lord xD Legenda - Just something i came up with , i think it should be Legend in spanish or something.
LuckyLook - TV show character . Agvania - the Hebrew word for tomato . assE - (sounds like SE) , my lovely SE mule .
Katsuruka: Made it up myself! I needed an account name for another site and all my usual names were taken, so I made an amalgam of character names I'd used, checked it on Google and got 0 results. The name doesn't mean anything, but at least I can claim to be the original (although these days not the only) Katsuruka! A lot of my character names (and pet names) are names of or references to characters in visual novels, manga and anime.
WinryGaara was random generated name in another game (Pockie Ninja 2 Original, in case you are curious). Gaara was always my favo Naruto character and Winry sounded familiar (found out later it was a character from Full Metal Alchemist) so I immediately fell in love with the name and now I'm using it for every single game I play. SengokuIori is the name from a character from the manga Gamaran (check it out if you are into sword fighting manga)
I suck at coming up with names so I smashed my keyboard a few times and I randomly got the name dascafasj which kinda suck imo but I was like: Meh, just roll with it. Used to also have an alt named voorikrica on another game which also was a result of smashing my keyboard. Long story short: I suck at coming up with names and they mean nothing.
Loyalty: Been having some problems with my friends and their LACK of loyalty to me, so I thought that would be perfect for the game
Well a friend of mine picked it... I just rolled with it. Gags is the nickname of Lady Gaga. So yeah...
ah man I grew up on galbi no one makes it like my grandma. hahaha bulgogi as well, damn I'm gettin hungry.. lol but my ign is just what I've always used for social media on here, my IGN for my 1st char on here is LURK and it's my handstyle I use for tagging! always practicing new fonts. figured my coming back to being a thief would match at least a bit aha
It all started on an overcast Sunday afternoon in July, eighteen seventy-four. In town there was a miller who, despite all appearances, was a decidedly shrewd man. So shrewd, in fact, that when on this most inauspicious of afternoons a wanted man—a confidence man no less—entered the village, the miller was the only man left undecieved. Indeed, whilst this thief, who would later prove to be one Edwin Chambers, took mayor, monks and magistrates alike for all they were worth (and sometimes more), our miller had not a farthing taken from his chest. Pity was, though our humble hero knew Chambers for what he was, he was unable to relay this to the people of the town. See, our poor miller was once born, and in particular he was born a prelingual deaf. One might wonder why this would stop him from communicating his knowledge, but one must remember: it was a simpler time, that of the overcast Sunday afternoon in July, eighteen seventy-four, a time when one was happy to visit the miller once a fortnight to purchase flour, but if one had any sense one certainly wouldn't engage in impossible conversation with a dull-witted person. So it was that on a slightly less overcast Wednesday that same July, as we find our egregious Edwin engaging in erroneous behaviour, across the main street, around the church and atop the hill we find ajar a door, hinged on hinges fastened to a building, containing within it a mill. Out this door stepped a man appropriately known by most as the miller. This most deaf and—as yet unbeknownst to all townsfolk—deft man descended the hill, circled the church and stalked the street and roundly entered the townhall. Once there he stood dumb for a spell, the crowd similarly so, before finally opening his mouth and uttering four syllables. Quite what our miller truly said remains contested to this day, but the most prevalent of transcriptions have it as often jocklad kakan as shock lad caken. Whilst none paid his much heed at the time, it has thence been clarified by our very same miller, after he found for himself some letters to be learned, that what was once meant to be conveyed was stop lad, cage him; in his defence it ought to be said that before then he had only ever read lips: speaking was a novel experience. Even so, for many months and years since, there remains a sign above the townhall carrying the contemporary and far more eccentric attempt at a transcription: chokladkakan, serving as a reminder for all to listen to millers and deaf men both, for it might just save you pound and shilling alike.
KingCrimson - The most badass 70s prog band. DonCaballero - Influential math rock band from the 90s. TeraMelos - Great modern math rock band. Yes, I name my characters after bands. I guess it's cause I'm not creative.
Linyah: Linyah is the goddess of light and [the] sun[shine] according to some Mozambiquan folklore and [fairy] tales. I discovered this on a trip to South Africa. Later also found out that tri-linyah is an experimental pregnancy prevention drug; however, this is not what I named my character after. Blaze: Was meant to be an I/L Mage, thus forming a contrast between my main element, Ice, and my IGN. Mynnigon: Also a deity, and again based on African folklore and tales, as well as religious aspects; Mynnigon is a god of darkness (I haven't used this IGN on MapleRoyals yet, but I've used it on several other games, including my F/P on gMS pre-BB). Delusinx: A twist on several words, including 'delusion' and 'assassin'. Bhikkhu: Bhikkhu's are traditional buddhist monks (I have yet to level this character). Yes, the character will look like one (#basedgandhi)!
Moooooooo - same IGN from another server I played maggles - a name a buddy used to go by/still goes by. My NLC mule that I can use as a slave and kill when I feel.
I was wearing a pullover with the word 'Cherish' when I created the character. And Cassia was from one of my favourite childhood books, titled 'The Garden of Empress Cassia' by Gabriella Wang. Plus C is a sexy alphabet.
Hugs - I wanted an ign that started with the same letter as my name (Helen). Plus I like giving and receiving hugs
OT: omg that's what I used to make my Sims 2 people some sexy chick naåvfdiuhvpsi odfhisvysf OP: Interesting reasons, I remember some random names of mine on MapleStory Europe. One of them were Mocharoni, where I combined mocca and makaroni-ish (makaroni = pasta, in Norwegian).
