Rollback 3 days and the economy will be normal again. It also punishes the players that used USD to buy in game items.
In what form? There's a discussion going on in this thread about the issue at hand. I believe Wandering Drum had an excellent post consolidating everyone's ideas: Mesos in the amount unimaginable have been entered into the economy and it'll be very difficult to get rid of all of it. There is no clear remedy where someone won't get hurt.
Who said the exploits started less than three days ago? Could be week or even more. There was already a three days rollback, having another one would cause so much chaos I doubt it'll do any good for the server.
you clearly want a rollback because you failed a lot of chaos scrolls like you indicated in the previous comment. a rollback also punishes players who legitly created items/trained during this time period
That was clearly the joke and a funny one bc all of this shit is sad and hilarious, I agree tho. 3 day RB screws everyone who spent those USD for some digital scrolls and u help fix the economy too! Another 2X compensation too bc I didn't get my SE mule to 129 yet and also bc the anniversary event is over (I got you @welch123 ) TW#1
Hey, how can your friend with better coding experience look into the meso exploit isssue and comfirm it? does he have access to the server codes?? Have you heard of the term "Supply and Demand"?? Because i think that is the reason why. Maybe you should learn what this term means before you accuse others and spread rumors
So long long exactly has this exploit been out if admins only just found out about its existence 12 hours ago? Have all the responsible parties been banned, items confiscated? What were they doing with all that exploited meso? Can we even track their expenditure in the game? What steps have been taken to prevent this exploit from occurring again?
If you think Maple Royals is 'unique' in how it operates as a v83 MapleStory private server, you are sorely mistaken. There are many upon many private server sources available for v83. There is nothing strictly unique in how the exchange of information between the client and server works across any v83 server. The protocol used to transmit data is predefined, static and unchanging since we only have half of the equation in our immediate control: the server. Thus, the important part ends up being handling cases whereby the client is sending bad data - generally from a malicious user. This is the root of most exploits when dealing with meso and item generation techniques assuming everything back-end is clean and not exploitable. I can definitely get people to attest that I generated billions of meso on this server because of the identification of the packet used to meso generate. Confirming an issue that has an immediate impact upon the server such as 'gaining 1.8b meso out of thin air' seems to be something easily verifiable; but, perhaps not by your logic? I don't quite understand how you can have such a strange position on the matter unless you are straight ignorant about the first line of your own post. We could again live in a world of 'what-ifs' whereby I made absolute sure that the full exploit was never divulged and plunged the market even further; but, I suppose single-handedly inflating the price of Chaos Scrolls by about 30m in an hour wasn't enough evidence. I suppose I created demand but at the same time had an infinite supply of your currency.
I dont know whether it is true or not, but What makes you say there was a meso exploit? If you could give me clear proof, then I can believe you. Because all i am seeing is that a lot of players are returning to maple royals in the past week and the demand is really high. this is a simple logic. Not going to explain in full observation here.
@Dawg I'd be careful with how much questions you're going to ask, since the admins have their own agenda, and clearly instead of taking responsibility they'd look for ways to ruin my credibility and making up excuses. Just look at Dustin's reply. Also if you want more material as to why I'm saying that the owner of this server doesn't even care about the playerbase, look no further than older threads.
Do you not believe an admin of this server? Both parties in this situation acknowledged that an exploit has occurred and was patched. There is no discussion about whether or not an exploit occurred: it did. I don't know what else can be said to make you understand that.
But I guess you're too busy buying new cars with the donation money than actually pay attention. WHAT? It's almost as if you haven't read this thread at all.
I think as a god of this server, Matt already doing very well to maintain all of the stuff and I don't think there's an obligation to stay up to work but Tim just care about this community in a different level
