Those who encounter the "unspecified error" 100% of the time when trying to launch the game should download and use the following client: *REMOVED* The above client will open the game in full screen mode rather than windowed mode. You may need to apply some compatibility settings to this client such as "disable high DPI scaling" and "run in compatibility mode for Windows 7". Recent testing has shown that this client has positive results to those who have been entirely unable to launch the game. For anyone who tries using this client - please let us know of your results in this thread. IMPORTANT: As of update 54, your MapleRoyals folder should include a secondary client called "MapleRoyalsFullScreen". Try running that instead of the usual "MapleRoyals" as pictured:
No difference regardless of all settings being used, tried everything. Edit: Is it possible that it could be the operating system thats the problem? Maybe people who can't run it have 32bit systems
Shouldn't be the operating system, but please note that this fix is intended for those who are entirely unable to open the client. If you get the unspecified error quite often but eventually are able to open the client then that is somewhat normal and I don't believe there is a solution yet. It would be useful if you can share your computer details like your operating system, graphics card, monitor type, and desktop refresh rate.
Yes my friend is completely unable to open the MapleRoyals client regardless of the default and the one you provided, spam opening the client does not work at any point. OS - Windows 7 x86 Graphics Card - Integrated HD Family Monitor type - Laptop screen, 1366 x 720 resolution I believe (Have tried fiddling with the ms resolution and no it doesnt change anything) Refresh rate - 60hz
It doesn't work for me, what else can I try? https://royals.ms/forum/threads/error-code-2147467259-tried-everything.98530/ Here's what I have tried
Thank you for your post. Not quite there yet though- Says I'm missing the following: ijl15.dll, nmcogame.dll and mss32.dll, when trying to install the nowindowed mode. I noticed that these are program extensions on the original game file, where I'm not sure how these can be replaced. I have never gotten the game to open, and I've tried a LOT of "solutions". Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Did not know that others had this problem too. Here is a alternative fix. (in my case) Changing your monitors Hz to 60.2 (or 60.1/60.3) will allow you to open Royals in window mode. It does come with some consequences. If I play cs go with Royals in the background, the inputs from my keyboard to cs go becomes "sticky keys" just a fair warning. But you will get to play royals in window mode. I do also have another method to fix this, ill post it later when I got time.
Seems like this happens to me when I have multiple monitors connected. Either way this fixed it for me without sacrificing my displays so yay! If you have a missing file error, try running the .exe when it's placed in your MapleRoyals program folder.
This worked for me! But having royals only in full screen, and not being able to window is a bummer. Update #1.. 10/8: Seems using a desktop shortcut of this client doesn't work. (sometimes) Update #2.. Have to launch from the MR folder for it to work. (all the time) update #3 .. 10/21.. Client seems to have stopped working and is gone. No error popped up and my firewall allows royals.
It works for me but is there a way to make it widescreen? Its awfully blurry on my screen resolution lol
Did he ever get it to open? I'm still looking for a solution to this problem as well That also happens to me even though I can see the files clearly there in the Royals folder. I tried to even re-download the game but it still said they were missing.
UPDATE: FINALLY! IT WORKED AFTER 2 DAYS OF TRYING MULTIPLE THINGS! Thanks so much to @Mustikka for helping me fix! I tried everything with @87Karlos, @HikariNoPuri and @Brange so ty guys for trying to help out as well. These are all the threads I looked at for help besides this one: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/common-v83-client-errors-fixes.87492/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/error-code-2147467259-tried-everything.98530/ And after finally getting nowhere, I decided to install VMWARE with this guide: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/how...graphical-glitches-closing-your-client.16643/ I had a new computer so I hadn't messed with anything at all. I'm gonna let @Mustikka take it away and let you guys know what he did to fix my computer through teamviewer~ I ended up deleting vmware after the client was able to launch all on it's own! THANK YOU SO MUCH I'M HAPPY IT WORKED OUT!
Okay so before getting it to work I checked that DirectX end-user runtime, c++ 2005 redistributables, and that graphics drivers were installed and up-to-date. DirectX and graphics were ok, so I only installed c++ redistributables. But what got the game working instantly was setting the screen resolution to 800x600, 60hz. This wasn't possible by default so I created a custom resolution using Intel Graphic Settings. At first, I thought that she is only able to launch the game by setting the screen resolution to 800x600, but when I reverted the changes back to default, the game was still able to launch. I have no deeper knowledge what caused the game work after it was launched once at 800x600 resolution, but well, it works...
