Event chairs.

Idk really where to post this.

First let me say that i appriciate the events and love the fact that we can win chairs or NX items.

I saw some people sitting in the FM on the new chairs like the Dozing Duckling Chair and the Slimy Scene Chair.
Now i already talked to some GM's about this and i'm really sad about the fact that even though it said:

I can't get a chair of my choice.
So basically i'm allowed to get a chair of my choice, but not the new ones...
I was hoping to get one of the newest chairs like the other people have won with some earlier events.

I don't want to sound disrespectfull or something like that, but the chair link ( https://royals.ms/forum/threads/event-prizes.7843/ ) is super outdated and the chairs are kinda a big fat meh. Especially because a lot of the chairs has been giving out in previous events.

So now i'm wondering when are we allowed to pick new chairs?
Can i wait with collecting my chair from the event till i can get a newer chair?
When will the chair list be updated?

I don't want to be this whining kid who isn't happy with his prize, because i am happy that i won, but i just think it's kind of unfair that others do get a new chair and people who can choose a chair aren't allowed to.

How is it fair that some winners of the GM makeover got a new chair, but others aren't allowed too?
Let ALL the winners choose a chair from the old list or let ALL the winners choose any chair they want. (What's available in game ofcourse.)
It's been ages since there has been events. And now when there are events, there are also new chairs!
So why only hand them out to a few people while others still have to choose the old ones..?

I think it's a unfair reason and a bit dumb that you don't want to hand out all the new chairs out at once. (There aren't that many events anyways.)

Add: imo i think the only fair way to do this if everyone is able to pick a chair they want (what's available) or let no one pick w/e they want.
Now some people like me are getting screwed over...

 

So you're saying that some of the event winners were able to choose the chair they wanted, but as the winners choose the list gets smaller? Or is it that the list gets smaller because the GM's just haven't been able to create more of the chairs that others chose? But if one winner can choose say, Mini Shinsoo Chair(Random chair example), and another cannot because someone else chose it, IMO its very unfair.

 

But also, there is clearly a list of the chairs available. Was the chair you wanted on that list?

 

Some of the winners could choose a chair that wasn't on the list, which apparently was a mistake by the GM, because the GM wasn't allowed to hand them out.
Now when i want to choose a chair i'm not allowed to, because it's not on the list and they don't want to hand out the new chairs yet, which is bullsh*t imo. Why wait with handing out chairs? Because they want to release some chairs on furture events...
Well sorry but if you're going to release them anyways why even wait? It's not like it will break the game or what so ever, it's like releasing new content and only a few people can do/use it and the rest has to sit and watch/wait untill they can.
So now basically when i want to pick one of the chairs i really wanted, i can't while others could. Sounds super fair right?

 

Well if that is the case, the chairs that weren't supposed to go out, should then be taken back from those who were given them and they should have to choose a different chair from the list that was given. IMO this is the best situation for making up for the chairs being handed out that werent supposed to go out. There was clearly a list in the event that was supposed to be followed.

 

Exactly! But that's to late, because one of those chairs has already been sold for a lot of mesos a while ago. And also i don't want to be this whining guy who ruines everyone their rewards...

 

I don't think its whining. You have a right to be upset. And you are doing it without posting names or anything that would ruin your just complaint. Everyone has complaints, but most choose the wrong way to go about it. Having an idea to solve the complaint you have is a super big help when you bring it up to those who deal with the complaint! (From a supervisors P.O.V.)

An idea I could suggest is to take the chairs that were given out, that were not on the list, be added to the list and allow those who already chose a chance to decide if they would like to trade in the chair they already chose for one of these that were handed out. I doubt they will do that, but its a suggestion to make it fair. Not adding tons of chairs to the list, but the ones that were handed out already.

 

would be a nice idea. its up to the gms to decide tho. i had to pick my chair from a set list....

 

The chair i actually wanted was the Full Moon Night Chair, which is a new chair, but they won't hand out those chairs just yet, that's why im upset, because others had the change to pick a new random chair when i couldn't.

Thinking about it, this thread would most likely be better in the feedback section. As it is a considerably big deal. GM's need to see this and either find a fair solution, or take actions to make future events fair. Future events need to be fair and not have something like this happen again. Everybody wants to enjoy the events, but if the prizes are going to be unfairly given, many might just choose to not even participate knowing that something like this can happen and nothing be done to make it fair.

Yeti Barber Chair

Those are the new chairs. Where did you even find that chair. Also you act like people waited for new chairs to come out, most of them were just to lazy to collect chairs until now and apparently new chairs came out. None of us knew that new chairs would come out. I quit the server because it broke after new source and apparently I came back and there was new chairs added to the list. Sounds like you really are crying tbh.

 

I'm so glad you brought this up because I agree with so much of this thread. I know we're all super stoked and excited whenever there is a new event with a possibility of winning a prize that you've been wanting for a while. Whether we get to win or not, it's nice to have GM events around because they're pretty entertaining and, in my opinion, make the community as a whole a lot happier.

With that being said, it is a little frustrating when a good chunk of the chairs on the server aren't even available as rewards, especially when you see people in game sitting on a chair that you were told wasn't allowed to be picked. I understand it might be easier to have a list of possible rewards on forums so that people can check it for themselves, but that thread is beyooond outdated, and I think we're all very aware of it. And at this point, any of the chairs that shouldn't have been given out have probably already been sold and it would be unfair to those who bought them, etc.

Now, I can understand if perhaps one GM didn't know that certain chairs were off limits for a forum event, but there are chairs not on the rewards list that have been handed out during in game GM events as well. I.e. the stork chair in this picture is definitely not in the forum event rewards list, but it has been given out multiple times for over 2+ years on the server.

Personally, I think the best solution to all of this controversy would be to either: update the chair list on forums to cover all of the chairs that are allowed to be picked, or simply allow the players to pick what chair they want and still keep the out-of-bound chair list that GMs deem "not available" (such as Pink Bean, Mudkip, etc.). It is definitely a bit frustrating to be told that you can only pick from the list of chairs that was created in 2014 (and last updated in Nov. 2016) that is essentially a list of chairs that end up becoming seasonal event chairs, such as the Maple BigWig Throne and the Heart-Cloud Chair.

 

Simply put, because events have been down for as long as they have with only sparse forum events to cover the extent of then, we have not been expanding our prize pool to include new items. That was to be added when events are more common again. So the truth is that it was a massive oversight on the GM's part who handed out a chair that was not on the list I linked, as that was not ever meant to be allowed at this time.

As for distaste for the prize list I chose for this event - please recall that, in most situations with events, the hosting Game Master chooses the prize list, and there is no choosing a prize outside of that list. That list isn't always shown before the event starts, either. If there is no prize that you truly wanted, you pick the one that you like the most of all of them anyway.

I can completely understand the server desires new chairs as prizes, and trust me, it'll come. Just not now, when there may only be ten prizes for a few months at a time.

 

I was the one who decided what prizes were originally to be given out, if you look at the original thread too you'll see that I linked that thread. Yes it is out dated - but it's still correct in the prizes that we're giving out. I do plan on updating the thread when I have a spare moment, but it's not as simple as just copy/pasting a couple things and being done with it.

 

First of all i'm not ''crying'', the new chairs you just said are new, because a GM made a mistake by handing them out, while it wasn't allowed, that's why they're ''new''.

Why is it fair that these other people got to choose a new chair when other can't?

And i found the Full Moon Night Chair, because a GM was sitting on it while i was talking to that person.

 

It was given out because of a mistake, that's all there is to it. No other chairs except those few were given out for any events new or old. The chair you're talking about isnt in that list.

 

You're right, it is unfair. But it was an honest mistake and i think you'll Just have to accept that a few persons got lucky and you did not.

 

So everyone's gonna use this "excuse" to get new chairs. I think the GMs admitted to their oversight and see-ing a stop to this kind of things happening in the future is a wise move. They have to be firm with their decisions.
End of the day, it is what it is. Pick your favourite one from the list and move on.

 

I mean, he won the event. I'd say he's plenty lucky regardless and just appreciate the fact that he was one of the winners
