Try closing Steam, Battle.net, Skype or any other programs similar to them. I personally have major issues when Steam is running in the background on my PC. I am simply unable to run Royals without it crashing on me. If the problem persists after shutting any of those programs off, I would suggest rebooting your machine and closing those programs again before running Royals. had the same problem was able to fix it while i changed my screen resolution to 1980 X 1080, ( since i'm playing only in screen mode, try change it to something else like 1600X900 and active it, if it's still not working try change it back ( since to me its worked like that ) ). Good luck
