MapleRoyals 2017 Census

Hi everyone!

To get a better, less biased view of the MapleRoyals community, I have designed a survey to gather some general information about our playerbase. I will collect the responses to this census and present the data any interesting findings at a later date. Hopefully as many of you as possible will take a few minutes of your time to help me out and see if our perception of the server is actually true!

• No questions are required so if you do not wish to answer any of them, feel free to skip to the next one.
• No personal identifying information is required and the survey is completely anonymous.
• Please answer as accurately and as truthfully as possible so that we have representative set of data.
• Please only complete the survey fully once.

Excuse me, but I personally identify as an Apache Helicopter. But I still finished the survey.

 

This is a good survey for sure but I feel it could be made even better by changing the self-identification portion from a "choose one" to a "check all that apply" format. The reason for this is that a lot of trans people, myself included, don't necessarily identify as trans. For example, a trans male may identify as a male, still be transgender, but *not* identify as a transgender male. Although some people undoubtedly do identify as transgender, I'd be willing to wager that a majority of trans folk do not. Also, one can argue that gender variant/non-conforming people are also considered transgender as well so it doesn't seem entirely fitting to me to restrict the label to the gender binary.

That's just my two cents though, take it for what it's worth. Nit-picking aside, this is definitely a quality post still!

Thanks for your feedback. I have to admit that I'm not the most well informed person on this topic so I just tried to be as inclusive as my knowledge let me. Hopefully everyone will be able to find the gender that they most identify to.

Making it check all that apply might mess with the data a bit as I'm assuming this will be in the minority of people.

I will keep what you've said in mind for anything I do in the future though

 

Seen the Facebook post so I figure I stop by and fill out the survey (been taking a break from Royals for a month or so to focus on RL stuff).

I used data from when I first joined the server to give my real answers since rejoining I haven't been nearly as active as I once was. I wanna see the results
