Aside from the inflation of WS/CS prices, I believe that the ITCG changes introduced in the new source also played a big role in this.

With the new changes, it added many more unnecessary etc items into many prime Gachapon spots like NLC and Mushroom Shrine.

In addition, crafting end game equips like Storm Caster Gloves (costing approximately 1b for a clean pair right now vs ~350m old source) and Face Stompers (costing approximately ~650m vs ~350m old source) became real tedious because you need way more ITCG items from other Gachapons + you have to go to Omega Sector (ain't no body got time for that) hence, causing a huge inflation on those items as well. I honestly think the prices will go out of hand from this point onwards even with the re-implementation of Horntail, Amoria PQ and Hired Merchants.

My suggestion would be to remove all those unnecessary ITCG items and revert back to the old source crafting.

The items likely just need the rates increasing in Gachapon. Although there is a bit of extra work to craft them now, I don't believe the quests should be disabled and reverted back to a simple exchange NPC if prices are the main issue.

Additionally, we did give almost a year's prior notice that we would be changing to the proper questline and there did not seem to be much concern about it at the time. It would also be quite difficult to revert back to the old exchange due to the way the items would need to be swapped around in inventories.

It's not that the items need a increased rate, there's way too many useless ones compared to before. It makes gachaponing at NLC/Shrine not as viable as before, leading to inflating prices overall. Remember in the old source when we just needed the manual (from Nlc), bvm (from cbd, naut, sleepy) + other crystals... Right now you would have to gach at multiple places to forge these end game items. I get that you want ppl to diversify their gaching places but I do not think its a good time to test this.

Also for the newer items introduced, you could throw them into the long awaited cwkpq or the exchange quest.

We wouldn't know at the time. We wouldn't know the new source is going to take this long for full functionality. Everyone makes mistakes.

Unless I'm missing something I don't understand how increasing the rates of the items in Gachapon wouldn't solve this?

Yeah, and what you are saying doesn't make sense, unfortunately. If the rates are increased then you would get both the useless and useful ones more frequently, and that sounds like it would solve the problem to me.

You said the problem was that the prices are too high.

If I remember correctly, white scroll and chaos scroll rates were increased before and the prices just continued to rise.

I find this to be too contradicting for my caveman brain

Correct. I suggested to revert back, not increase rates.

Right, and I've said it's pretty much impossible to revert back, so increasing rates it the best solution if you feel it's too hard to obtain the items and that the prices are too high.

If you have for example 100 items in gachapon, with a chance of "1" each, so a 1% chance to get each item. Presume 2 of them are itcg items, one useless, one good, if those are increased to a chance of "2" that means instead of 1/100 chance it would be 2/102 chance, so those two items would now have a 1.96% chance to be obtained. That is how the chances work in gachapon and how increasing rates would mean you get that item more frequently.

Won't revert back to anything lol not "GMS-like" enough. Even if it'd help the economy or server for the better. Just give up trying to help, their going to dodge anything you say that has pre-new source in it. RIP

Maybe removing/moving the less useful items like boss hunter etc/lv 70 forging equips would work wonderings because 1b for a clean scg is kinda crazy don't ya think? lol

You can see the amount of less useful items from gach with the link above

Like I've said, the suggestion posed was to revert it, with the reason being that the prices are becoming too high. It's not feasible to revert to the old exchange and as such the best solution is to increase the rates for the itcg items in Gachapon.

That is indeed quite steep yes, so the solution is to increase the rates. Simple. We'll look into doing that then.

ROFL this helps nothing. You're increasing the shit items too how does this help anything?! It's like saying find the needles in this hay stack but there's more dog doo doo in it than needles. So they increase the amount of needles and dog poo poo duty both by 2x for an example. You get more of the same shit "literally" wtf positive changes?! Def not this poor market :xD:

I'm sorry that you don't understand how in my example you would end up getting more of the good itcg items than previously. I'm not sure how to explain it better than I already have.

You'd get more ITCG in your gach pie with the same number of tickets.

You'd get more of everything (so more of what you want, yes and more of what you don't want). If the ratio of good items you want to bad ones to everything else is for example, 1:10:89 (100 tickets), what Matt is proposing is essentially making it 2:20:78... assuming my math isn't completely wrong, increasing the odds of some items would lower the odds of other less desirable ones (but not necessarily all of them as the less desirable ITCG would go up). Note the numbers are just an example.

I assume you'd end up with less potions, etc. Completely conjecture though.

I like the idea that you'd be buffing the "good itcg" items but what concerns me that it'll ultimately push out less WS/CS into the economy. (The prices of those are inflating like crazy too 420m/480m+) This is another concerning factor you would have to take into account. What I liked about the old source crafting was that most of the itcg items found in NLC gachapon was actually "good". You got to take in account that one thing will influence another, in this case buffing itcg will drop down the supply of ws/cs.

That would be correct. Thus the chances of WS would also be increased accordingly. I am aware that increasing chances of one item affects other sought after items in the same Gachapon.
