No, Royals is not a democracy. Unless you want to pay to have an account on here at which point we can have a serious discussion about that idea.
I would gladly pay to have a say in what we work on to develop, or even start threads in which donating players pledge donations for the updates they want most. For example I would gladly pledge a $20+ donation for when monster book is added.
The difference between us and Verizon is we (the staff) don't get salaries unlike the "employees" of Verizon.
Something to keep in mind when discussing politics is, do you want to separate rights and money? Everybody has the equal right to make money in a democratic society, but in America we go by a different economic system, which we call Capitalism. I am sure you are all familiar with it. Capitalism states that though we all have the equal rights to make said money, it is not regulated by the system, it is regulated by private owners. That means that different people make different amounts of money because it is a privately controlled market, and can arguably be considered unfair. Why do I mention this? Well, MapleRoyals has a similar system to America. Though there are rules to follow (slightly different punishments than if this were a Nation, but that goes without saying because this is an online community), there is a non-regulated economy (for the most part) because you cannot pay to win. It's against the rules to do so. So you could say, MapleRoyals is a Democracy politically speaking because everybody has equal rights. But, Economoically, MapleRoyals is Capitalistic.
You know perfectly well that's not true, but if that's how you feel about us, why are you still here? It's not like you're able to play.
He asked a question, and I've answered his question. I don't hate the staff, I just don't respect their opinions and rules. This is just my opinion, you can't change it.
