They (admins cuz gms have nothing to do with it) give a shit about their players that's the answer, only person who was doing something and keeping us updated was dimitri who sadly quitted being an admin. Since then we didn't got even one answer, my priv msg was simply ignored where I only politely asked for an update and eta about this situation. I recommend getting over it unless u willing to wait next few months and asking for update and at the end probably getting an answer "stop asking we working on it we got lot of things to do no reason to ask" and make it look like it's ur fault and u done something wrong for simply asking and being worried. I just stopped playing maple and forgot about all of this, made me a lot happier. Just seeing all these people waiting and asking for update really makes me sad so just wanted to leave my last thoughts here. Recommend you guys getting over it as well and move to server where admins care or just stop playing like I did unless u want to keep playing on server where you know no one even bother to reply ' we working on it' or 'sorry refund won't happen' anything would be nice to hear tbh. Anyway my point is just leave it, prob won't happen this year or ever. Yes I know this comment was offensive and good it suppose to be, maybe some of u will hate on me for it but I'm simply telling the truth that's all. Not gonna comment anymore as well, I said what I had to say.
Well to counter negativity here, I have submitted a proposal to the other admins as to how to deal with the issue. I am waiting on feedback from them before I go forward. I would not say being hacked is necessarily the player's fault, but at the same time, we haven't found evidence of these particular instances being the server's fault either. The patch that was quoted in here earlier did involve a way to get onto a character that did not belong to you, but there wasn't a way I'm aware of that that exploit could have been used to target a particular character, it would have been purely random luck to fit all the criteria necessary to take advantage of that glitch. Regardless, we want you guys to enjoy the server, and I understand that it can't be done without your equips, NX, items, what have you. I hope to return in the not so distant future with a solution that should hopefully be okay with those affected by their accounts being hacked.
I am not worrying my life over this, I am just bored after work. The reason im following up on this issue is other servers doesnt seem to be as active as this. Also I had quite some commitment here, so I wanna continue. The irony is, I dont wanna continue without my loss being compensated. The loss is just too huge to be ignored, >3 months of savings...
At the same time, can I ask if it is "safe" to transfer some leftover stuff from my hacked account? I want to play a new character and make use of the leftovers, but I'm concerned that these "trade logs" will interupt the investigations for compensations?
Alright. Thank you @John for the update. We appreciate it very much and look forward to hearing from you again.
if they are not going to do anything, they wouldnt have posted the notice to return items right, i am still quite confident that they will, just a matter of when?
All cases are/will be worked on. It takes a lot of time, particularly with these types of events, to try to restore items, equips, mesos, etc. while at the same time, ensuring the claims are legitimate and not abusable. Unfortunately, people try to take advantage of the situation and claim things they never had so they can resell them when they get one literally created for them by the admins. Essentially that is something we try very hard to avoid occurring.
Does being extremely honest speed up the process? Obviously nobody can remember every tiny detail of their items, we might over or underestimate a bit (unless its obvious that someone exaggerate their loss intentionally)
No because we still have to go into database backups and look at logs and verify the claims. We don't know who to trust, it's very much a manual process. The staff has been doing a great job triaging threads and trying to help in as many ways as they can. Hopefully we can get these problems behind us sooner rather than later (I can't give you a specific date since we really don't know, but it's an active activity that's being worked on, I can say that much for sure)
As an update, Tim has been going through some of our backups and creating database queries to refund the hacked characters. We are planning to do it en masse so once all of the threads have been finished and the queries tested to ensure they are written correctly, we will be issuing the refunds during a server check.
Thank you for your update. Is the refund going to be tailored to each of us or just a generic refund for all? If a generic refund is used, some of us might be overcompensated, while some will be under. Also, is refund of NX actually possible? Most of my loss are in the form of NX
It is tailored to each person and what they lost specifically. I believe NX refunds are also being calculated but don't hold me to that, I am not positive.
I would rather have them back as it is, in NX form and then I can decide what to do with them. I do not trust bets like gacha or whatever
@John is it possible to trace hacked items? As far as my knowledge goes, GMs were able to trace hacked items. I'm hoping not only will there be a refund, but also bans for the culprits And since refunds are tailor made, does that mean refunds will only be made based on confirmed claims, whereas items that are lost but not claimed are not refunded?
