How do you react when someone appears in your map?

Good morning Royalers!

Lately I've been battling with the force of individuals that don't necessarily respect other players when it comes to map ownership. I personally find it to be a nuisance to stop what I'm doing and spend 5 minutes explaining to these folks that ksing is a reportable offense. For someone that works a majority of the day, I find it to be a waste of time to go through this process and use more time to file a report. Nowadays I end up just waiting to see if they leave, And if not I change channels myself.

I'm curious how you all deal with ksers or people that appear in your map and do as they please. Do you go through the report process, carry on doing your thing or leave?

 

Normally I'm working while mapling as well and when someone comes to my map first thing I do is say nothing and see what they do. If they start to take my lots or something I mapowner and ask them to leave. Not in a nice and lovely way fuck it. I tell them: please leave my map, if they continue I'll just mapowner again and be rude: leave my map, NOW. I rarely have to explain the TnC and honestly I find lame to be nice because I'm being ksed, bother or annoyed and that makes me lose my kindness hahaja

 

I personally never had problem with people ksing me for some reason, but if it happens to me I'll do ~mapowner and take a screen shot showing the map ownership plus the IGN of the kser.

If they still won't leave I'll probably bring my f/p and I/l into the map to make it impossible for the kser to kill any monster.

Generally if im in a high level populated place, people know not to ks, and if im a low level map, chances are the remaining 19 channels are open so i just cc. Only maps i can imagine KSing is actually a problem in is ghost ship/mp3 and voodoos, also why i prefer to stay away from those maps hehe

 

Normally I politely ask them to change channels. If they continue to ks, I just use ~mapowner and ~servertime and tell them to leave immediately or risk me reporting them. It normally works.

There was one occasion where I was soloing Bigfoot. I found (and started hitting) Bigfoot just a minute before 2 guys came into my map. As you could imagine, Bigfoot's hp was around 95% at that time. Those two guys were hanging out near me opposite bigfoot. As soon as I died from accidentally touching Bigfoot, they started intentionally hitting Bigfoot. That's a big dick move in my opinion so I did the above mentioned in the previous paragraph and to their credit, they did leave. But they're still dicks to me.

 

I feel sorry for the chap that tries to ks a GM. The one time someone reported me for botting (because he lost map owner and got mad at me for training there while we was afk) @Sila appeared to check if I was botting and I almost had a heart attack lol.

 

What @87Karlos said. I ignore them, because most maps are big enough to share. Depending on map architecture, I kill around to maintain the spawn so they can stay in one area. I've never had an issue, not even when the server only had one channel.

If someone were to take advantage of my "generosity" and KS me, I wouldn't hesitate to warn and then report them.

 

I actually respect this more than you think. It feels like everyone other than you & myself has too much pride to just move to another channel instead of instigating something with someone unfamiliar with the rules. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone into a map when someone has asked me to defuse a situation where there is KSing going on & pretty much EVERY other channel is completely open. It sucks real bad to get KSed & that's why it's not taken very lightly here, but it's also so damn easy to move channels.

 

You sound like the type of person I'd get along with very well. I agree 100%

 

I normally just about my business as usual, most of the time I don't need to say anything and people leave. Other times, it just seems somebody started attacking before realising I was there (And admittedly I have done this a few times as well, because sometimes the red dot does not always appear right away on the minimap) and they just leave when they realise that they are intruding. Still yet other times after going about the map a few times, some people ask me for a party to kill or some etc for their quest, to which I would gladly oblige them since it will be over pretty quickly anyway.

Otherwise like said already, I would just change channel myself because it would be much more time consuming to get all the details to satisfy a proper report than just to change channels. Only exception of course, is if things take place in a highly contested map like Ghost Ship, in which case I just hope that they eventually get what they wanted and would just scram (But I am never gonna say that to them of course).

The only time I will really go and report somebody is if it is always the same person causing trouble (to the point that I remember the IGN) over many days.

 

Usually I'll just press F6 and they notice me and leave. If they're still there, I'll hit 'em with the passive-aggressive F7 and that tends to do the trick.

But also I'm lazy af and grind at Newties, so I'm usually the one getting F6'd or F7'd at for spamming Genesis at such an inefficient training ground.

 

I'm passively hitting you with the f7 as we speak.
