With the transition from the old source to new source, the white exp you get from killing a boss with a party, becomes the last hit (finishing blow) instead of the most damage dealt (so generally jobs with fast attacking skills will get the white exp). The white exp system in the old source was a nice way to gauge the DPS between different classes, making it much easier to see who dealt the most damage, rather than asking everyone in your party how much exp they gained. (lol, actually I did this because my friend @Buccaneer was testing different damage ranges for a Night Lord to match a Buccaneer @ Krexel.) I believe with the current white exp system, it kills the satisfaction/competitive spirit one has after the boss dies, rather some calling it "lame". Many players worked really hard for their equipment/weapons, so this change should definitely be brought to the game. I know that you guys are trying to make the game more gms-like but, I believe that the old source white exp system was one of the small features that made Royals unique and great during the glory days of the old source.
Can we just do all your ideas please also go back to Old Source because it was better. Don't get hopes up high there are other GMs-like additions still needed to be added before this time consuming fix.
With ~mapowner command, there is no real need to see who last hitted something. Old source white exp was a fun system which encouraged friendly competition among the bossing crew. Please bring it back as it will do no harm nor get abused like FM button.
Voted yes as well. The white exp actually made me care about bossing when in a boss run whereas now its more of chore than it used to be.
I also asked Andreas and was told that this was a gms-like feature hence I decided to create this feedback thread. If you think about it, there was no white exp in gms for whoever dealt the most damage. (also it was probably default as last hit for white when the server was in bare bones, which is based off of gms) Whether its a bug (pls say its a bug lol) or a intended feature I do not know but, I would love to see it back!
I havent rly cared about whiting back when i played gms so i dont remember how it used to be but white exp on last hit just feels stupid to me lol...i cant think of a single benefit of having this over how it was in old source...
I voted yes. However, if possible, can they implement a system command (i.e. ~damagemeter) which shows how much damage each player dealt to the boss?
I'm not a boss'er right now, but it'd be nice to have that soon, as a matter of comparision to other partners. I agree, but is it possible to change it back?
"Chasing whites" was a part of bossing and it made it more fun, really. It gave bossing a competitive side between the party members - a Bowmaster whiting a Night Lord was pretty embarrassing for the Night Lord, and a pretty awesome feel for the Bowmaster, a Bishop or Archmage using their ultimate at Zakum arms meant that the others had to be fast to not give up too many whites to the mage, and lastly it was a way to tell who wasn't using attack potions - if you know you're not the strongest attacker on the run and you white something, it means that the people better than you are slacking, not Appling or maybe you're not as weak as you thought you were. Does any of that stuff matter in the end? No, not really, but it was a hell of a lot of fun. It'd be really nice to see it back. I really want to stick it to some Night Lords like old times. Bowmasterrace.
I dislike having to calculate every Krexel run to see if my pala beats Chris's mm, so I vote yes please to old whiting system if it's possible to be re-implemented.
