'basic' end game equips ie 21 scg 10+ fs 15+ pgc 145 st 91 craven etc are basically mandatory for all 180+ attackers who want to be taken seriously.
make a mage, sell leech and ONLY THEN make an attacker. you can skip making a mage by making a hero/drk and farming rexton leathers for 100m an hour as well like i do.
We are talking about if it will increase the end game item, not sure what you are talking about. I said if the CS supply doesn't increase, then other end-game items will remain the same. Not sure what is you WS idea have any effect with this.
When I said "I don't understand what you're talking about" I was being sarcastic I know exactly what you're asking. What you're asking is really self fish. Rich people don't become rich people simply because they join the server earlier. They put in hundreds if not thousands of hours to get there. You indirectly said you wish the market crash and becomes so fucked up where you can buy end game weapon with a few mesos as a new player because you see everything as "unfair" don't want to put in the same amount of effort everyone else put in to get to where they are. You want it to be easy so you can get the end game weapon without effort.
I think that is exactly what I am doing right now. I have naked thief with int. And a mage with trash item to leech it. I think the mege item are worth 50m all? I can still get 1 hit on lulu 2. I am already halfway through a perfect weapon thanks to joining later. If it is one or two years earlier, I will be already banking enough WS to make a perfect weapon. Join later pay more effort. Hate this. I need to pay double effort to make a perfect weapon compare to the old players.
Why is the quoting thing not work for me when I use my cellphone? I went back and clicked edit, and I see the correct quoting header, but it's not displaying correctly

So people are buying 70 WS with 400m e.a. to make a perfect waepon and then sell it as a few meso? You also don't get the part NPC Buy WS as similar meso. So it fixes the WS price at a centain range as well as the price for perfect weapon. Learn some economy then reconsider this. Don't just make anything out of your mind, please.
Think that way if you like. I made most of my money since I came back to this server after May 2017. I pay the same price you paid on ws and cs. It will suck for you for a very long time. Not because the economy is jacked up, but because you're playing it the absolutely least efficient way possible. Even if you finally saved up 30~40b for a perfect luk 95 attack dragon sleeve, I bet you I can out dmg you with a nl with 1/3 or 1/4 of that funding. Balanced your equipment, buy low, sell up, upgrade as you go is the smarter way to do it while making money in the process of upgrading. Good luck to you. Hopefully you realize this soon!
I'm not making it out of my mind. I did it and still doing it right now. That's why I never make my own equipment. I buy stuff that other people make because you'll pay more making it yourself (unless you're really lucky). Perfect stone tooth for an example. Perfect clean 111 attack cost 3~4b, and then like you said 70 x 430m on white Scrolls to finish assuming 10% chance, that's almost 35b. I got a 146 stone tooth. I paid 2.1b mesos + 22cs and 10ws, which is around 16b. Guess what? It's usually cheaper and safer to buy from other people than making it yourself. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out. Edit: I did get a bad ass deal though. 146 normally cost 20~24b, but still cheaper than making one yourself if assume 10% chance and you don't 30% it.
Forgot to mention. Just in case you're wondering @maoxian, I got it last month not years ago. Edit: a real life correlation example will be buying a house. Cheaper if you pay cash buy it on the spot than go through mortgage. Buying what other people made is like buying a house on the spot. Buying clean weapon and finish it slowly is like getting a mortgage on the house. You put down a down payment (clean weapon), and collect ws slowly, or you can choose to save up and buy it on the spot for cheaper from other people.
actually, i don't really understand why the new players are resistant to having the CS/WS NPC. I'm only in this server for 2 weeks and I kinda like the idea. The objective is to work towards the end game item, and having that NPC is gonna help you too eventually. less time hopping in FM/megaing for people to sell you WS/CS will equate more time for you to earn your cash, be it through selling leech or just farming the skin thingy. I am no expert on how market economy work (I study life sciences) so I am not sure of its effects on the market. but as a player, I know the implementation of both an NPC that sells AP reset and/or WS/CS is probably going to help me, regardless whether I am a "old and rich player" or a "new and struggling player" but i do support what LovelySylvy said about it though. Although I never got to experience it, I'm pretty sure I'd be over the moon if my gach actually gave me a WS/CS. Side note Would putting a limit on how many scrolls can be bought per account/per week help maintain its rarity?
I understand your opinion and accept it. But you're ignoring completely the players who doesn't want the server to be so easy, who doesn't like this recent wave of "easiness". The idea behind MapleRoyals server was to suggest a closer version to the actual Maple Global that we liked so much, that we have so much Nostalgia from. So.. Leeching became a norm. OK. I get it. It's easy and convinient getting leeched to 120/135/whatever. That also occured in Maple Global in those times. But CS/WS/AP Resets in stores? Seriously? When was that a part of the Global Server experiance? sorry if I sound abit outraged but this is a complete absurd to me. This wave of people that is trying to make MapleRoyals an easier server as time goes by is Dangerous to the very first idea and ID of MapleRoyals initially. I am going to say it again. Since when MapleRoyals become an EASY Server? You said and I quote : " I am no expert on how market economy work (I study life sciences) so I am not sure of its effects on the market. but as a player, I know the implementation of both an NPC that sells AP reset and/or WS/CS is probably going to help me, regardless whether I am a "old and rich player" or a "new and struggling player" -" I repeat and say, you are ignoring the idea that Matt came with MapleRoyals when he first published it. What community did MapleRoyals approach? The people who seeks for Nostalgia, the very experiance Maple Global offered, provided us. "is probably going to help me" - Define "help". Putting CS/WS/AP Res IN SHOPS will help you? Making MapleRoyals x10 / x100 / x1000 EXP and Drop will ALSO help you. Putting 10%/60%/30%/70% Scrolls in shops will Also help you. The idea is not to make the game as much convinient to the user as it can be. That is what NEXON is doing and keep on doing with their ongoing Server.
Great. I guess we should change the rate of exp and drop to 1X to make it a "Very Nostalgia Experience". At same time, I think we should remove the voting system. Voting to get NX? seriously? When was that a part of the Global Server experience? Instead we should follow GMS making all those purchasable by real world money if we really want Nostalgia. There are many other features the server provides but GMS didn't have. I do not understand why we have those features. They are so not Nostalgia. ____________________________________________________ Believe me or not. No matter what was the idea Matt first brought this server to public. MapleRoyals is not just an old version of GMS. MapleRoyals stayed at V062 (V083) for over 4 years which GMS never experienced. Unique features were added to the server from the admin and gm side, such as higher exp and drop rate, voting system for NX, hair style change with mesos etc. In the player side, the game also evolved. The average level of characters increased. The number of mules increased. Total wealth accumulated over time. Those are all things you can't and should not ignore. Higher exp and drop rate, voting system for NX, hair style change are all adjusted to give people better experience. Now we are facing dramatic inflation that never happened in the GMS at its v062 time. It is an issue not seen in Nostalgia. Actually I personally do not think it is an issue. I would rather the admins and GMs allow the economy itself to stablize than release those 2NX and chair events. However, It is a fact that with the inflation, the game becomes more and more unfriendly to new players. HP-wash and crafting end game items cost much more than what they did. New player in general needs to spend 1.5 times amount of effort to get the same HP and items as the old players. I personally have no problem with it though because I myself am not a new player
For a second there I thought you are a new player when you reached for them and said that the server becomes more and more unfriendly to new players. But then I saw you mentioning the terms HP-Wash and End-Game-Items. My reaction? What. You're talking about the game being unfriendly to new players and then using the terms HP-Wash and End-Game-Items... You made me think to myself then - This person cannot be a new player. A new player (Let's define a new player - under a month playing) does not think straight away about "How am I gonna fund my HP Washing" and "How tough is it gonna be for me to reach End-Game-Items", that's NOT the problems of new players, that is NOT what they think about. You know which players have those problems? HP Wash and End Game Items? Players like you. Not-New Players. You're saying: "I personally have no problem with it though because I myself am not a new player" How do you know New players numbers are decreasing? Are you a new player ? How do you know that the Criteria for players to decide wether a Server is worth to play / attracting is "How fast am I going to achieve End-Game Items and HP Wash" ? I am repeating again what I said before, The idea of Fun and pleasure at the old times of maple. (And please tell me the years you played maple before this Server, very interested) is not just getting further in the game financially-wise. The majority of the players in MapleStory simply did not think at those terms.. You tried to explain why there will be less players coming to the server now saying and I quote "HP-wash and crafting end game items cost much more than what they did. New player in general needs to spend 1.5 times amount of effort to get the same HP and items as the old players." That's the way of thinking of NEXON, made people only think about "how am I gonna max my ATT Range" , How am I gonna get the best Items.. endless competition. This is not the spirit that Matt came up with introducing MapleRoyals. And you're just missing it. What is the big headline when you go to MapleRoyals.com ? MapleRoyals - NOSTALGIC MapleStory Private Server.
and this morning I dreamt of having a WS/CS npc in maple I will still be equally happy when I am able to get a WS/CS from gacha, event as I will still be able to sell it off for mesos gain, and the equally low rate of obtaining them. In my opinion, its either : 1) introducing an NPC for WS/CS 2) find a way to substitute CS/WS for mesos so people could stop storing WS/CS to go beyond the inventory's 2.1b limitation. Both of the solutions prevent players from flipping WS/CS and causes inflation to the market. As some other have pointed out, the hardest part of obtaining a perfect item is about the time spent farming mesos and also having the luck of passing the scrolls. We don't have to make the process increasingly harder/longer, it is already HARD. pls forgive some of us guy for being short T.T The reasoning for nostalgic is lacking as it is literally impossible to have such high attack scrolled weapon back in the days, and their server at that time wasn't designed to be frozen in time, stop being developed, and continue to sustain for such a long period of time when eventually the veteran players reaches the threshold of 2.1b, and opens the door to pursue end-game items.
Please make a NPC that sells AP resets for a reasonable price :/ Most players, especially new players already have a hard enough time making int equips
Npc selling ws/cs will completely break the game because the problem we are having right now is hacker/botter/RWTer/vote abusers farm with many many many characters illegally generating massive amount of mesos more than 10b+ per day and buy out all the ws/cs in fm regardless of the price. When people sold out their ws/cs at 500m, they will sell the next one at a higher price, and the cycle repeat. If those hackers/botters gain access to a npc that sells ws/cs, they will have easy access to endless ws/cs for them to make perfect gear worthless and/or sell ws/cs/perfect gear for $$$ Take a look at the follow two links with history and analysis. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ap-reset-for-mesos-and-ap-reset-stackable-during-trade.108300/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/farewell-mapleroyals.109088/#post-604040
This made my day!!! thanks!@!! In the grand scheme of things in the market, cheaters will be able to out-farm the rest and potentially buy out the market, monopolize any single item and flip up the price. It will remain as an issue even when the supply of CS/WS goes up... They also pretty much ruin the game in every single aspect.... but I guess with the supply of CS/WS being circulated only and only between players trading it should greatly slow down the cheaters in getting their perf. item. You do raise a good point which I wasn't aware of. Thanks for pointing them out!
