It's not about the time and effort i'm not putting in to it, because i've been doing a shit ton of grinding the past months at skeletons, my complain is that you can make more mesos in ulu1/ulu2 than in petri's or skele's while that takes a lot more effort to kill than those ulu mobs.

& that's just adaptation. If one map is nerfed, another bigger better map will pop up that people have figured out in terms of viability & that cycle will continue to happen no matter what. That's kind of your fault if you're wasting your time at a place that makes less if your sole purpose was to make mesos.

So how come 2x NX and increase drop rate of WS/CS made 0 change in the price of them? If supply has increased say 1.5x (because not everyone gaches), then it should be at least a BIT cheaper. Yet it didn't go down at all.

It's not my itention to make mesos, because i was leveling my bish to 200. If i wanted mesos i would also go to the ulu maps.

Let's be honest guys, no horntail, no income. Everyone must get money for better gear so the only way viable for consistent money is mage. This is a no HT problem :/ #bringbackHT

Players like me are not rich (irl) enough to buy ws and cs. During the 2x NX, i believe most of the ws and cs are used and obtain by players who are involved in RWT, both buyers and sellers. How do i know? google.com

Look up on websites and see how much these people are selling on a daily basis and how cheap they are per ws/cs after the 2x NX. Thus, the increased supply of ws and cs is just used to satisfy the rich and bold players who buys them using real cash.

As to reducing the spawn or drop rates, there is not a need to. Ulu maps are just a substitute to what a goby map is used to be.

You can also do that in old source, just head to gobies. Don't forget that in the old source, SI can be used to cast genesis faster. But yes, we do need HT ~f14

I think the problem here lies in the fact that duo leech has suddenly become popular, paired with the higher leech prices. As an individual who has spent a lot of time in said ulu maps (two 200 mages and a 3rd one soontm), and after having talked with @Shiyui and some other people, I've reached a conclusion that these maps themselves are more or less the same meso/hour rate as what they were in the old source. The major difference here is that people are now buying duo leech for a lot of meso. Back in old source, I'd make around 30m/hour at petris from npc-ing, and usually 65m/hour from selling leech. Now on the other hand, i can sell the same leech for 100m/hour, by selling split leech to two different people paying 50m ea. As a result i am able to make 35m more per hour, which is around 37% more meso/hour. I don't really know why duo leech suddenly became a thing, but i can imagine the higher leech prices are being caused by inflation.
The main concern i have with lowering drop rates at ulu1/2 is that it would lower pretty much the main income of meso into the economy. The meso from npc-ing alone was never really a problem in the old source, so its mainly the big bucks made from the expensive leech. One possible solution i have thought of to this is to nerf the droprates at ulu1/2, and buff the rates in maps like dukus or the oblivion maps, basically leaving the meso still available, but requiring a significantly stronger mage to effectively farm. Fixing mystic door to not door people to temple of time without having done the respective prequest would also significantly restrict leeching in these maps, so people would mostly earn whatever is dropped from the monsters there.
Another thing i think is contributing to this problem is the fact that there is no Horntail or apq (#bringbackHT). Lots of people i know made their meso exclusively at Horntail or apq, but now that is obviously not possible, leaving mage farming as the only viable way of making meso. I'm not sure about this, but I'd assume there are more people in general farming meso on their mages these days compared to old source because of the current lack of alternatives to making meso.
Like Charlie said, i think one or more meso sinks would be needed if meso/hour rates are to be nerfed. I personally think HMs for meso, tp rocks and ap resets sold by Ablert would be good solutions and would help bring the meso in the server down to accompany a mage farm nerf.

I'm not entirely sure why the two lowest level Ulu mobs have the highest drop rates, but Id be fine with a nerf to them.

I agree with this sentiment. It doesnt require very high magic to 2 hit Ulu 1 or 2. And if you're a mage it it requires less depending on your Meteor/Blizz to 1 hit either. Making ToT maps have higher drop rates is something I kind of can get behind. While I'm not an overly huge fan of the boring grind to gain access to each map, atleast giving some more reason to actually go there is only a plus in my book. Also this can be looked at as a path of leveling progression. As you level up and get stronger you gain better maps to farm. Instead of having the strongest map to make meso, barely after you hit 4th job.

There has been very many complaints that loosely are connected to the economy being "fucked", I think this is mainly because people have anchored themselves in yesteryear and refuse to get with the times on current prices. I my self am guilty of this and clearly understand where these kinds of feedback are coming from. I and many of the people who have complaints about this seems to have made most of our income from horntail which currently is not available. How ever I believe in the freemarket, people who are selling and buying leech is the people who are going to buy ht books in the future and then the horntail runners will get to sell their books for very high prices. Like @Martin said the difference is not in the npcable equips people make it is in how much people spend to buy leech, when people have other stuff to buy as well (like ht books) they might not be willing to spend that much on leech anymore. How ever this is just an assumption but to be honest theres nothing other than speculations and assumptions in these threads anyway.

These kind of threads need to stop, you can't just think about how things changed for 2minutes and say that it's bad now and that the staff should change everything. What is the problem? Is it that mesos are not worth enough, because im pretty sure they are worth the same for everyone. Is it that its too easy for new people to get to "end game" because im quite sure that even with the current leech rate you would have to sell around 1k hours of leech to achive "good/end game gear" for 1 character. I personally have trouble with understanding what is the actual problem that we want solved with all these changes that is being proposed. We need to stop acting like we know what is the best for the economy by assuming that this should be nerfed or that should be available through npc purchase. The economy is doing fine yes some stuff are expensive while other stuff is cheap and the prices of goods are subject to change. it's the free market, supply and demand is what regulates the value of different goods.

Last time op made a feedback regarding how we need 2x nx to decrease the prices of ws/cs we got 2x nx and what happened? this literally didnt even make a dent on the ws/cs prices. I have noticed from the time I've spent playing for the last few months theres no problem with the cs/ws supply from what i can tell theres always plenty of them for sale in fm merchants even in old source when the price was pretty much always around 300m there would be times when you could not find any scrolls in fm.

According to op basically everyone has a mage to farm/sell leech with. Hence it cant be too easy for new players to make it to the top through making mesos because making mesos is literally the same for everyone... If you are as dedicated to selling leech as the new guy who is selling the most leech you will always come out on top since you started with x amount of net worth while he started from 0.

This sums it up really well. Imo i think you’re right, but i still disagree with the fact that the Ulu maps gives you more mesos than other maps that actually take effort to 1 hit. Like @Martin and @Charlie proposed you would need some other maps that need to be buffed before reducing the spawn of these maps.

In old source basically everyone who farmed mesos did it at gobies and its also pretty easy to get to the level where your bishops 1hit those maybe its slightly harder. How ever i think that if Skele and petri was the main places for selling leech this would be more fair because people would sell/buy leech in those maps where you dont make as much from drops while you could go farm straight npc mesos from the other maps and the leech there wouldnt be as attractive.

I do agree that the drop rate of items is pretty messed up at the moment for some mobs, however I don't believe it is something that is having much impact on the prices of WS/CS. As stated by some in this thread it seems like the meso/hr at popular leeching locations is still quite similar to how it used to be. I strongly believe the problem regarding WS/CS prices is being impacted mostly by exponential demand for these items due to the increasing amount of characters reaching end-game. I also would expect that implementing further Meso sinks may lower the price, although theoretically should also lower the price of all items in the game, which would still mean that although WS/CS prices could go back down to what they were, they would technically be as costly as they are now when compared to everything else. In my opinion the only foolproof way to lower the prices of WS/CS would be to increase their rates from Gachapon to counter the increased demand, however this also comes with the issue of players being able to obtain more WS/CS than they could previously, which may seem unfair especially if the obtained WS/CS are for personal use.

From my anecdotal evidence from playing both in old source and new source it doesnt seem to me as if ws/cs are in demand more now than before because before there would be times when they were literally sold out, which i have not noticed since new source. The only time prices would fluctuate in old source was pretty much when they were sold out they would go from 300-340m at most. How ever recently it seems as if the prices were rising steadily without being sold out. It seemed as if they were going to stay around 450ish before chair gachapon. This is not factual evidence nor am i an economics expert.

How ever i don't think that these kind of changes to try and manipulate specific prices for any items/services should be done until at least everything that was in old source is fully functioning.

I'm not a fan of changing anything "because it used to be harder, so it's unfair to older players who had to work harder." Times change; it's a game, and, in the end, everyone only works as hard as they're motivated to.

That’s why i only suggested for the Ulu maps to be reduced, (so the staff doesn’t have to put to much effort in coding this) because it’s simply to ez to earn that much mesos, but as Charlie and Martin said there should be a compensation for these reduced maps, like buffing the ToT maps.
Iirc in the old source it wasn’t as ez to make this much at the Ulu1/2 maps, it was all about skele and petri’s, that’s basically the point of this thread.

Unless the drop rates were increased from old source, I see no reason to alter rates to accommodate the extra money people make from leeching.

Edit: It also seems like skele maps, the spawn isn't what it used to be. Why not buff the bad maps spawn that got nerfed than nerf other maps now?
