the manon will only drop the cry if the person that is killing it for you has the quest as well. or if it does drop you wont be able to loot it.

Killed over 15+ with attackers whom may or may not have had the (correct) quest active and none dropped. Decided to solo it (~35 minutes) and it dropped first kill.
