Hey guys! So I've already asked around about this, but I'm still not sure about it. How do you guys determine if a item is worth WSing or you should just try 30%ing for the first (X) slots and risk blowing it?
The factor here of course is the price, but Idk how expensive an item has to be before I consider not using 30%ing.

    Thanks! :)

    It's about risk reward.
Personally I look at it with a mindset of ''Can I afford to lose this''. If I'm scrolling a perfect item on the last slot, I will not use a 30% because it's no longer worth the risk. However, the first slot, when the item isn't worth as much yet, I can pull of a 30% for the first few slots that I consider viable enough to take the risk.

How much 30%s? And under how much must the item cost? I know the gist of it, just don’t know what the exact numbers people use. :3

Well yeah how that guy say its abour risk.. no risk = no win.

But that's deppend on how scared and poor you are. I'm always try to do 3 slots or 4 with 30% them all ws + 10% :D or buy a already scrolled with 3 or 4 slots use.

Anyways its all about the risk <3

This is all subjective. If you personally feel like risking 3 bil in order to profit e.g. 6bil, then go for it.If you feel like you can risk more, you can buy do more tries with 30%'s. It's all up to you. There's no specific formula for this as it is completely subjective whether you feel this is worth it or not.

It all depends on how much you value the item, how much meso you make, and how available the item is to buy again if you boom it.

I've personally 30'd or 70'd at least the first slot of every item I've ever WSed, but the most expensive semi finished item I bought was a 2b shield.

So my reasoning for 30ing is that I'd rather save the 4b or so trying to pass a slot with a 30. On average, passing a slot with WS 10s costs 4.3b with 10 WS at 430m each.

Several of the items I've made are commonly or semi commonly available. I typically first pass 3 30s on the clean items, then doing 2 WS 30s on the next two slots. Only then do I finish the last remaining slots with WS 10s. I prefer this method of perfecting items, as long as the clean items are around 300m each, preferably far less of course. I'll settle for WS 10 scrolling more remaining slots depending on the item, but at least for the 62 int overall project I'm working on, I want to finish at least 5 out of the 10 slots in this way.

So like I said at the beginning, for you, one factor is how much you value the item. A perfect clean weapon your friend who quit gave you probably isn't going to be something you want to boom. Same with items that people you care about have tagged. There's sentimental value in items, but turning towards just monetary value, that's going to depend on how much meso you make. My personal feeling is that I wouldn't 30 an item worth 10b or more. 10b is the amount where I feel like it would be a significant loss if I were to boom it. It's the amount of money I make in two weeks of concentrated effort, so earning it back would take significant time. My guideline is think about how much money you make in two weeks if you're a fairly serious player, and how much money you make in a week if you're a fairly casual player. Those are good maximum meso values on items to try 30ing if you want to save WS money. But there's also the issue of how available the item is. Things like cravens and nisrocks are all over the place. You can buy a new clean one to 30 whenever you want really. But no one is going to 30 a 60 att clean sleeve. Even if it's only a 4b 60/6 sleeve, it's going to be hard to find another 60 att clean sleeve to replace it. Same with perfect clean shiners. If an item is truly rare, don't 30 it unless you're okay with not finding another for several months or even a year. But in the end, it all depends on you. :p

Well this is a bit complicated but here is a mathematical way to decide if it is worth it or not in terms of monetary value:

For using ws 10%'s vs using 30%'s without using a ws:
    1. Is the item worth less than 30% of 10 ws(4.3b)?

If your item is worth more than 30% of 4.3b (around 1.4b) then you should generally just ws it since if you decide to 30%' it, you will on avg be spending more money and will have to look for that item again if you fail/boom it.

In other words if you item is worth more than 1.4b it's not a great idea to 30% it. Especially if the item your scrolling is rare to find

If your using ws 10%'s or 30%'s with ws these are the factors you need to consider:
    1. avg is 10 ws per slot = 4.3b per slot

    2. If you 30%'s until it passes with a ws, the chance of it passing is about 45% and it booming is 55%
( for the sake of making things simpler lets just say its 50:50, In other words I will on avg boom one and then pass one)

    3. The chance of passing a 30% is a little less than about 1/3 so i am on avg going to be using 3 ws(1.3b) to try and pass a 30% with a ws

So since you will be using a total of 3 ws(1.3b) for 1slot on avg and you will on avg pass one without booming every 2 tries, and 10 ws is 4.3b
the formula you should use is this:
IF: the item cost x 2 + 1.3b < the item cost +4.3b then it is worth attempting 30% + WS and Vice versa.
HOWEVER know that if you use 30% + WS instead of using the regular 10 ws avg method you will likely have to go find another spare of the item you are scrolling since one will likely boom, therefore you have to consider how rare the item is in this case also

    TL; DR
In terms of pure Meso value:
If the item is less than 1.4b use 30%'s
    If the item is between 1.4b - 3b use 30% + WS
If the item is more than 3b use WS's

numbers here are all approximations to keep things simpler*

    Just a personal addon:
I've recently 3x30%ed a perfect crow, and I'm planning to ws+10 it for the last 4 slots
But slowly, since I'm not rich.
    Why don't I 30%+ws the 4th?
According to the regular math for perfect equips, I should 30% until 4th or 5th.
But, since I don't need to finish such weapon really fast, I'm willing to save money to try it slowly,
instead of booming it and starting all over again.

Hey it's math ;) feel free to make a copy. The formula is basically, (average attempts needed for success*scroll prices)+(average fails for 1 success*cost of item).
