Pet auto HP works 100% of the time for me when I'm just standing around and hitting mobs, but 0% of the time while using teleport. As in it doesn't work when I touch the mobs right after teleporting, so I could be teleporting through a map full of mobs for a full minute and get no auto HP whatsoever. I've already died a few times because of this. Is this a bug, or just a feature?
Yep, happened to me a lot too. Don't depend on Auto HP/MP to save your life; use them as tool to let you relax a bit but always watch your HP/MP bars.
I did just that after the few times I died, but it can be tough when the mob hits like 1/3 of your hp and using magic guard drains both hp and mp in seconds. So rather than draining both I thought it'd be better to just spam hp pots, considering they're much cheaper to buy.
Don't tell me how to live my life! I depend on people / things all the time & they let me down all the time but I still do it. I have had this issue with the very few HT runs I went on in the past with 9k HP as a marksman, which is the reason I upgraded to the HP it is now so that I don't get 2 shotted if I miss one from spamming Strafe & snipe. Basically it is possible to override the pet heal function with spamming skills. So if you are running around spamming the teleport key instead of holding it down, you can sometimes expect to miss your auto heal. It has been like this in every single iteration of MapleStory to ever exist & there isn't any way around it other than to get used to it & not use a skill / buff when you know you are about to get hit. (The almost soiled pants @ Zakum because you use buffs when it 1/1's you & you are buffing while it happens are fun as well.)
For me it happens only when I'm using teleport, doesn't matter whether I'm spamming it, holding the key down, or teleporting only once. Which is very unfortunate as teleporting while training almost always involve getting near or into a bunch of mobs for effective use of AOE ice/lightning/whatever skills, so coming in contact with the mobs are inevitable. I've not encountered any problem yet so far with spamming other skills, so maybe the bugs are different for different jobs? I'm only lvl 60++ atm so no experience with bossing yet.
