After 10 months into Newsource... Most debuffs casted by the Zakum Arm (left 2nd from bottom) seem to have a 1~2sec delay in showing up either the icons (Sweating, ghostly black wisps, lock, skull) above the characters' heads or grey description text indicating the status for e.g (You have been blinded, your accuracy is decreased). I also heard Cancel Weapon Attacks in bosses (Zakum, Krexel, Pianus) have a delay between their activation and icon indication time. This isn't a big issue for majority of people but I hear it makes life of Marksman difficult with Snipe timing. Maybe most of the players are now adapted to this delay and regard it "normal" but I found it extremely irritating (for past 7+ months!!) as a Drk main as I'm subjected to these debuffs during zakum arm stage. I cannot anticipate them and waste 2~3 sec every single time they are used because icons/descriptions only show up late and by the time I use an ACP, it takes another 0.5~1sec for the acp to kick in. - For e.g When there are 2 left bottom arms remaining, I need to jump attack but if [weakness] hits me, I'm spamming Jump button like a mad man for 1~3 sec before realizing what happened becoz icons/descriptions simply don't show up at the right time. In order to make sure this isn't "normal", I went and watched numerous videos of zakum runs in old source as well as other pre servers' and confirmed that they show up immediately. I even asked my guildies whether this is normal in terms of "old GMS/KMS"; since royals tend to pursue GMS features. Every reply was "NO, they are supposed to show immediately upon debuff". I HOPE this can get fixed ASAP.
Is this still an issue? I discussed this with Kevin back in November and he tried replicating. In the below video, the deebuff animation occurs at 0:08 and ends at 0:10 exactly when the debuff message and animation is applied to the player:
Yes I can confirm this is still an issue. Your video is accurate however is not reflected that way in game for regular players. The delay is 1-2 seconds and it also happens inside ht with sealing, cursing and possibly but not confirmed, seduce.
Yup still experiencing same issue in HT (haven't ran zak since HT got released). I was just wondering, with advice of @HikariNoPuri, have you guys tested with multiple people in the map? Most of the experiments conducted by staff seem to be done alone. Maybe it works differently if there are multiple people in the map?
There is no code in the source which forces a longer delay for more players in the map, so that isn't possible. The only thing I can think of is that the Zakum run shown in the video earlier was on a local test server, so 0 ping. Therefore it could just be ping? Although a 1000-2000ms ping like has been suggested as the added delay... seems like a lot. Either that or I'm just still not really understanding what the problem is. Maybe it would be useful to get a video from your perspective?
I can confirm that this is still happening, and yes, it includes Seduce at Horntail and from Lyka. I was the Seduce mule in a Horntail run yesterday and nearly died several times because the icon above my head and the text in the chat box took 1-2 seconds longer to show up from the actual ailment going into effect. I will try to video it next time.
All the points below are from my memory. 1st mark - 2:34 I see misses on my attacks and this one I reacted quickly with use of ACP but no Icon or grey text message (Icon & grey text don't seem to appear if ACP is used before certain period of time has elapsed) 2nd mark - 3:01 Same as previous point 3rd mark - 3:25 Same as previous point 4th mark - 3:47 Same as previous point 5th mark - 4:00 I didn't attack after jumping because Seal kicked in but I used ACP before its icons/grey text appeared so it didn't show. 6th mark - 4:32 I couldn't jump and ended up attacking only bottom arm because Weakness hit me but once again ACP worked before anything showed up. For this video, I was actually spamming the ACP for the sake of time run so major Debuffs never lasted long enough for icons/grey texts to show up. Curse (exp reduced) through out the run, seems as if it shows up immediately but that's probably not the case because its effects could have kicked in few seconds earlier before the icons/grey text showed up. There is simply no way to prove that I'm affected earlier as exp gain is not physically visible (like big MISS signs or being unable to attack/jump). 1:01 I used rush in > direction but it didn't happen because Seal's effect already kicked in yet it didn't show immediately.
