As much as I want HT so I can get a HTP, having HT doesn't really bring that much to the game. Only the funded and high level ones will be able to fully enjoy it. Imo, the best thing that I can think of that would benefit the majority of the population (Rich or poor) would be like LHC. Great end-game content; changes and gives an extra option for people to level up 120+ & promotes partying (Aka teamwork, which is what Maple was all about before); this is from a Arch Mage that relies on selling leech to make money. But hey, its pretty clear that HT is one of the priority of the staff atm, so who am I to talk? Just a old man dreaming about the past. I do totally agree that fixing family, guild npc, skills, (Basic functions) etc... should be the priority before attempting to implement any new content tho.
Scar/Targa is good but I don't like those helmets. I only get the chance to do Zakum Jump Quest in this server. Getting a powerful helmet in very depth of a city is much more fun than just entering a door, pay much cheaper price than zakum svc and get a helmet without even getting a hit. I think fixing boss dc should be priority.
But one of the main things the server currently lacks is late-game content and not really early game content. So....................................
Don't really see any of this happening. Pink Bean maybe but still not for another few years. Chaos Zak / Arans are a definite no from me. Also, I fail to see how Heros are overpowered in anyway or even comparable to an Aran. They have no mobility, pretty sub par mobbing, and are only really effective when 3 targets are in the vertical hit box range. I don't mind having some of these maps added though it would be nice.
That's the cool thing about LHC. Its not just "early" game content but it gives an entire new option to people who can't ulti spam or have the funds to be accepted into boss runs (RIP Pally even if you're funded) to train efficiently from 120 ~ 200.
Except the EXP gained from LHC is absolutely retarded. You'd have to do a crazy amount of balancing for the mobs original HP / EXP for it to viable on MapleRoyals. I feel like something like that is extremely hard and time consuming. If i'm not mistaken LHC came out sometime after(?) Big Bang. The EXP Curve from Pre-BB to Post-BB was huge, you'd have to do alot of rebalancing. Of course, this can all be done, but in a reasonable time? Probably not.
True, but even if you take it exactly as it is, Spoiler: it doesn't seem too crazy. (At least compared to the EXP I get from Ulti Spamming). Even IF you think the EXP is too high, remember that even implemented directly as it is, people in Royals would kill a lot slower making it not as "OP" as you see it in the video and it takes a lot more EXP to level here (EXP curve as you mentioned) than what you see in the video. Of course even adding it exactly as it is to Royals would take a lot of time to code, and seeing how most people here are anti Post-BB, it probably won't happen. Just a throwing out a friendly suggestion that would benefit everyone.
Also, the only thing that made LHC a good training spot in the first place was the fact that it was a "Party Play" area. 50% more exp per party member. 6 members makes it either +250% or 300% depending on if it also counts you. If there was no party play, the area wouldn't be that useful considering the enemy health:exp ratio at the time of its release.
Exactly. The point of LHC is to make people work together. PQs are all great for lower levels, but what about 120+? Of course you got bossing, but like I said, not everyone is strong enough to be accepted on runs. LHC would be like the "PQ" for higher levels.
Oh don't get me wrong. It would be quite a fun challenge to try to take on these monsters alone. It provides a great amount of motivation to improve in order to reach the strength needed to tackle that area.
Problem is that, like you mentioned, whithout a full party you wouldn’t get the EXP bonus therefore actually making LHC worse than current places...
I know, but I’m not exactly thinking of exp. Just being able to kill them in a decent amount of time is an achievement in itself. I doubt Von Leon would be added even if this area was.
Mhmm yeah. If this area was added, adding everything that goes with it makes sense but I wouldn't really care about it. What I think Royal really needs is a place for higher level people to grind/party. Care to elaborate a bit more? For example, Zakum created a lot of drama in GMS / and IS creating a lot of drama in Royals (Zhelm scammers, Gen20 looters, often d/cs, etc...) atm too but no one complains about its actual existence. Only two reason that I see of not adding LHC would be: Adding new content isn't easy (I know nothing of coding so...) & it would ruin the "nostalgia" feeling for some (Although that is very subjective).
They added Ninja castle, which I'm pretty sure is post potential content. If that's the case then I'd like to see cpq, mpq, ppq, pink bean, scarlion/targa, mu lung dojo, and areas in the main post implemented at some point. Also the gm that posted with the chaos zakum video on the first page of this thread. That is the result of potential and not the result of Chaos Zakum himself, also he's going to be really difficult to beat without potential and post big bang skills so it could be fun if it's possible to impliment him. However his helmet is really op (10 or 15% hp), but I guess it's worth it for how difficult he is. The population here is poop compared to gms back in the day. You shouldn't get too many problems with ksing, which was the only problem I've seem to have when grinding there especially on the 2x exp events.
