Boating/Travelling wait time!

Don't you think that it's a bit pointless to defend the boat ride times by suggesting for people to pay to skip them? If everyone just skips them then what was the point to re-introduce them? Another mesos sink?

 

Meso sink plus muh nostalgia. I feel like if this change was framed as a meso sink, not that many people will be complaining. Now it feels like we are paying something for nothing, while having no say in it. I don't mind spending 2m on a smega cos I get something out of it. Spending the same on fast travel passes is just WHY THO.

 

Paying to skip them is a convenience, it's not "expected", and I honestly don't think the tickets were designed as a meso sink, they were made so people who don't want to wait and have the money, can pay to skip it.

 

Ironically the “fast”/“convenient” aspect of MapleRoyals made a lot players, myself included, stay in the server. Also keep in mind that this change will make the game harder for starters as I don’t remember having to spend 2m/day in traveling back when I started. In the end it’s a disadvantage to them compared to how things were when we started.

 

It's not like you have to pay 2m to get on the boat.

I know what you meant. And it's only 2m a day if you buy the passes. Which, you don't have to. Other continents aren't locked behind a 2m a day barrier.

I get people got used to the ability to travel instantly, but it's nothing new if you played GMS (or any other version) and people got by just fine. This was something Matt wanted to implement for a while, I believe it just got pushed back behind more important fixes.

 

If you know what I meant then why did you say that? You missed my point anyways.

 

Feel free to outline it in more detail, if I'm missing a subtle point you're making, I just didn't want to respond to every word of what you said, and I don't think I missed anything. My point kind of sums up the entirety of why I think your post was wrong.

You never have, and never will, have to pay millions to travel. There's just boats like there was on GMS. New players are not at a financial loss here because of this.

I think(almost) nobody will have problem with this boat riding if the travel time will be reasonable. It's frustrating wait 10 mins to go abroad and then another 20 min till destination.

I went yesterday from orbis to CBD with quick stop to repot at NLC and it took me ages!!

If the riding time will be 1-3 mins it can workout but I don't and cant produce enjoyment from total 1+ hour of absolutely nothing.

F*** nostalgia, we started playing royals for nostalgia(burned out after few weeks) but stayed for royals , not 100% similar to GMS - correct , but better.

IMO if we went back to no boat ride it will be the best for me, but for the sake of some for them and total royals community , please make the intervals between boats significantly shorter and ofcourse fix the absurd riding time for realistic time(similar to a loading area time in 1st The Witcher - seems reasonable).

 

Now we can have secret train ride parties, because everyone else skips the rides !
