I'm taking a break on this for a bit-- thank you school

    So what?

So what is this you ask? I'm stealing something my math teacher older brother does with his students where he asks a complex math problem once a day for extra credit points (I know what you're thinking, Good Will Hunting). Well, I'm no math teacher and I don't give you guys grades (unless you want some?) but I figure it could be fun to have some sort of question/trivia/something unique that is asked once a day and see who figures it out first.

Fair warning some of these will be obscure, difficult, and most will tie into things I like because that's most of the stupid stuff I know about. Some will be puzzles, scavenger hunts, etc, so there should be a nice mix of stuff! Feel free to use google

However! Not everything will be easy to find through google since I'll make some of it up. Some of it will also be outside the scope of common knowledge. So just a heads up. I'll adjust the difficulty day to day if people get them too quickly/not at all.

    Prizes???
Maybe? I'm poor in so any sizable amount of mesos would be difficult for me to do, but hey, this is all for fun, we'll see what happens.

    Rules!
    • Feel free to post/chat about answers but don't be a dick.
    • Post time stamps are final if there's two people who get it at "basically" the same time. Don't forget I can see edits so no saving spots :D
    • Don't be a jerk. I might forget days, shit happens lol
    • Happy birthday Jeen!
    • Have fun!

The picture is Nighthawks by Edward Hooper probably his most recognized work. Edward Hopper lived in Manhattan and was inspired by a dinner in his neighborhood Greenwich Manhattan where the MiB Headquarters are also located.

All for rewards! wink wink ~f17

Hm. I'm gonna give it to you because it's technically right (lol).

I was going for Truro, Massachusetts though. Edward Hopper spent his summers there and Truro is where Agent K is found in the beginning of the 2nd movie (Truro post office).

    Question #2
How is the 80's synthpop band Animotion (based in LA) related to the daytime soap The Young and the Restless?

This one should only have one answer this time D: Good luck

Past member of the band Animation Paul Antonelli worked on composing music after he left Animation, one of which was for The Young And The Restless.

    Question #3
If you flip 2 fair coins, and one of them is heads, what are the odds that the second coin is also heads?

I want reasoning with the answer. ~f17

Also sit down @bowmop and give some other people a chance ~f18

    Edit:
    @Nessi I'll work on some!

FINALLY an easy question! the first coin was obviously a dummy coin.. so the second coin will obviously be tails..

But really, the first coin has no effect on the second coin. So the odds that the second coin will "also" be heads is 50%. I think..

    That also works !

    I believe the answer is 1/3 !

If that's the right answer I'll explain what lead me to think of it ~f18

Yeah, the question is left so it doesn't tell you WHICH coin is heads. Which means you have 2 possible outcomes, HT (first coin is heads), TH (second coin is heads), and HH (both coins are heads), and each are equally probable. This means that only 1 gives both heads, 1/3.

    Nessi got it :p
