Hello, all! (See bold for tl;dr) I've been grinding up a F/P to eventually become AM and sell leeches with a HS mule. For fun on the side (I like to switch between characters regularly), I've also been leveling an I/L, but only a little. My endgame goal as a leech seller, I understand, is to 1-hit petri - but I haven't yet heard about I/Ls selling petri leech on the forums. Is there a reason F/P would be a better leech seller than I/L in general? I ask because I like the idea of being an AM and selling leech, but I miiiight be more interested in I/L than F/P. Then again, it's hard to say, as I've yet to reach third job, which is where I hear F/P shines. If you want to give me your pitch for I/L over F/P or vice versa in general, I'm also open to that, but mainly my question is: Can I/L's sell leech just the same as F/P, or is F/P a fundamentally better leecher than I/L for some reason?
its all about the lv30 skillbook, blizzard would cost alot more than meteor, the dmg output would be the same for both job in my opinion, the freeze effect from blizzard doesnt affect that much if u can 1 hit those high level mobs, so yeah
the base damage on meteor is higher than blizzard meaning you will need less overall magic att on a fp than a IL to one hit petris.
Advantages of F/P: Meteor 30 is much cheaper than blizzard 30. For same TMA, elemental wand 5 (the fire wand) is much cheaper than elemental wand 7 (the ice wand), because it comes from the popular NLC gach , and it has INT clean. In contrast, elemental wand 7 comes from CBD gach, and has LUK clean. For example, a 150 TMA (e.g. 2 INT 148 MA) clean elemental wand 5 is around 40M, while a 150MA clean elemental wand 7 is 300-350M. Easy 3rd job poison mist training. Meteor shower has slightly more damage than blizzard (meteor 30 has 620 attack, v.s. blizzard 30 has 600 attack). As a result, F/P need 1195 magic with meteor 30 to 1-hit petri, while I/L need 1222 magic with meteor 30 to 1-hit petri. Also it is worthwhile to notice that meteor 20 and blizzard 20 have the same attack (520), so I/L is not at a disadvantage here with LV 20 ultimate. Advantages of I/L: Better 2nd job than F/P because of lightening bolt. The strongest grinding mobs in this server are the mobs in road to oblivion 1-5 in temple of time. They are weak against ice and strong against fire, which means I/L will do 1.5x damage to them while F/P will do 0.5x damage to them. As a result, I/L is the only mage class that can 1-hit them during late game. It will make your grinding to 200 a lot easier. Oblivion leech used to be a thing. It was the most expensive leech in the game. However, after a recent update, it is no longer possible for leech buyers to bypass the temple of time quests via door or TP rock. That being said, you may still find buyers who did the quests and are willing to pay a hefty price for oblivion leech, since it is much faster than petri or skeles. In summary, I/L will be a bit more expensive to fund, but can sell leech just as well as F/P. And the funding money is small compared to the amount of profit you can gain from selling leech. After making my main (bishop), I made an I/L instead of an F/P because I want to 1-hit oblivion eventually. And additions / suggestions are welcome!
They are calculated by Shiyui and posted here: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/the...sters-in-road-to-oblivion.108470/#post-600406
I/l's advantage when it came to leeching was being able to leech at oblivion 4/5 maps easily, but after the update (where now I/l hs mules also have to do the quests up to those maps) that became a bit of a struggle ... When it comes to normal leeching places, both are equal in terms of service of the leech. They both can leech anywhere that their hs mules won't get exp (ulu2, petri, skele ..) Their ability to 1hit petri/skele is fairly easy to achieve for both of them. However I/l costs more in terms of funding. Mainly for 3 reasons .. Blizzard30 price compared to Meteor30 price , Elemental Wand 7 price compared to Elemental Wand 5 price , and the meteor attack buff (f/p can reach 1hit easier even though the difference is very minor there) In conclusion the service itself is exactly the same but the reason people might assume f/p is a better leecher is the fact that funding a f/p is cheaper. Personally I prefer I/l and had amazing fun with my character as well. Sold/given leech for so many hours at petri simply because I enjoyed doing it with that char If you wanna go the cheaper way to save up some mesos then definitely go f/p, but if you're looking to have some fun with your character and don't mind how much you're spending on your mage, then I guess my suggestion would be play a while with both of your mages and see which one you enjoy more. Everyone has different preferences, some like I/l more, some like f/p, so see which one you like more
The guys above have pretty much gone over everything worth saying. One more thing is the archmages summons. Both can farm heartstoppers with their summon no problem but each class has a different problem: F/P can't farm lucky charms or soiled rags with theirs (both ice immune mobs and Elquines does ice damage) The skillbook for I/L's Ifrit 30 is GPQ only so I/L are stuck with lvl20 skill until GPQ is fixed. Edit: GPQ is working now
Ahh thank you all so much for your responses! How much faster is F/P 3rd job compared to I/L? Poison mist training is like my #1 draw for F/P but I feel like I just so strongly prefer the aesthetic of I/L and it seems, lategame, like a better choice anyway... Honestly it probably won't sway me very much, but I am just curious if poison mist training is like waaaaaay faster / more ez mode than 3rd job I/L. Thanks so much for the helpful info! My big benchmark goal will be 1-hit petri (after which I'll develop other goals). I know this is a lot to ask, and I really only need a ballpark estimate, but ... any idea approx. what the difference in funds would be for an I/L to do this as opposed to F/P? I assume it's not like, twice the funding or anything like that. It seems like the difference in clean ele5 & 7 is lesser than the difference in a scrolled ele5 & 7 - or at least, proportionally less - so I'm just curious, for those who have done the grind... any idea approx what it costs to get to that point? Thanks again to everyone who responded, this has been super helpful for me! <3
Indeed the better scrolled ele wand the greater the price difference .. So I'd suggest either buy a decent-enough clean one and scroll yourself or buy around 175tma for starters. I myself have used and still using a 162tma ele wand 7 on my 200 I/l but don't go on my footsteps haha I've had bliz30 and mw20 as well to be able to 1hit petri. The difference in my opinion isn't that big to give up hopes on I/l. If I were you, I wouldn't worry much about the price difference between bliz30 and meteor30. I'd just wait until HT is released (hoping soon) and then you can better see the difference. Cos right now it's just insane.. This may mean it might take you longer to reach that 1hit petri as you'd need more levels with bliz20 / meteor20 but, I mean, buy them if you are really impatient and buy them at your own risk haha. So the main mesos gap you should consider is between the ele wands. As all the other equips are common for all mages. I really have no idea about the prices but a quick check around forums should give you an idea The funding difference isn't something that you should worry too much on I reckon. It's not that big of an attack gap. Only funding difference is always gonna be the ele wands. Plus, you don't really realize that damage gap until you have meteor30 maxed and have very good gear / magic. Always feel free to add me in game as well btw (itisKate / isKate)
My 3rd job with F/P took me something around 20 hours total of grinding. 70~80 at MDTs (using poison ball 2nd job skill) 80~95 at ULU2 (Mist isn't strong enough for Petris, and it's dangerouns to die there with low HP/MP) 95~120 at Petris MDTs took me a big while, 1.5 to 2 levels per hour. Ulu2 gave me a big bump of one level every 8 minutes at 8x, 12mins at 9x. Petris kept the same rate as Ulu2 until 110, then it became slightly slower, somewhere around 20 minutes per level.
Dang that is heckin fast. Do you happen to know if I/L is much slower? I'm gonna dig into the percent per hour thread to see if i can't find some answers there, too... I need to stop this habit of over thinking things so much they stop being enjoyable LOL
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe leveling an I/L alone is probably as hard as a Priest (grinding) But probably most of them level up by leeching.
Yes, fp are really fast. Leveling an i/l to 120 is just as terrible as leveling any other char to 120. Ultimately i/l gets the best exp in game at ToT, Ro4 if you're willing to struggle through the levels. For myself as a new player I had no funds I made a preist together with a fp. poison braced Death teddies till 75 then moved on to wolf spiders till 85 after that it was petrifighters till 120. Note that if both characters are within 5 level of gap. You'll still get exp from petrifighters for both your characters. And finally now I'm using my fp & bishop to level my i/l and Spearman. This might look like a long process. But it isn't ABD totally worth it. Also note that with a fp that needs 0 funding, you can save up every bit of mesos for the majestic elemental wand 7. Expensive af my friend. :/ Hope I was able to help. Oh wth. And for your question. I/l are just as badass as i/l I prefer i/l over fp. But they might get expensive to fund. The wand and blizzard 30 :/
I heard poison training is easy, but I never knew it's THAT fast. For reference, ULU2 split leech without tell-casting will level you from 90 to 93 in 1 hour (20 minute per level). Solo leech is at most 20% faster than split leech, so it's 15 minutes per level at 90. So poison training is faster than ULU2 solo leech, which costs 70M per hour at current market rate
If you take in count that, leeching a high level mage (min. 130 A/M to 1 hit), you only get somewhere around 30% of the real exp of the mobs. Soloing it should be better.
