In the T&C, you can read the following about Real World Trading: Spoiler: T&C Real World Trading - The act of exploiting the software or the game for any sort of commercial purpose, including buying or selling items, mesos, or services for real world currency or barter, or additionally, any and all solicitation, advertisement or other promotion of the aforementioned. Now, I have a situation where I wonder if it'll be considered real world trade. It's the following: Suppose I'd like to buy a "real world service" like an artwork. Can I pay this with mesos, or is that considered Real World Trade?
I'd think that'd be illegal, since you'll be selling real world services (i.e. your artwork) for in-game mesos. Or as "barter" is defined; exchange (goods or services) for other goods or services without using money. So in this case, the exchange of artwork for mesos while not involving any real currency.
would you define art made via a computer program as a real life thing, or a digital thing? i mean if it was up to me it should be allowed with art
Digital artwork is still a commodity so would would be classified as a good. If you're paying for a commisson then you're directly trading for services.
Okay so for example, your avatar picture (It's very nice by the way!) If you had paid someone mesos in order for them to create that one for you, it'd be considered RWT? I just wanted to make sure I understand this correctly.
I reckon if you do any service of any kind outside of maple -I'd say including even assignments, essays what so ever- and pay for those services in game, it would still consider an RWT. Correct me if I'm wrong though!
You may want to raise any concerns regarding the buying/selling of artwork in this thread: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/art-buying-and-account-sharing.76684/
Thanks, that thread is very helpful (Also quite a bit confusing, but definitely interesting read). However, I'm hesitant to ask my questions in such old threads as this is sometimes considered necroposting. Now, I think I will avoid my art purchase since I want to "stay friends" with the community as a whole. Even if some GM would call the purchase OK, maybe a big group of players will frown upon it (with reference to the thread linked above).
