Do you think I hacked?

Since I’m unable to speak to Kai directly in private, I thought maybe I’d bring this up to get other players opinion.

A couple days ago I was at work and in the forum chatbox we were talking about the server bring wiped, which was a joke. So, as I joke, I stated “I hacked to level 73” so it didn’t matter if the server wiped or not.
I was perma-banned from that comment because it was a believeable comment.

I’ve tried to defend myself and posted everything I have to prove my innocence... Yet it still isn’t good enough, as I’m remaining banned.

I’d like the communities input on this subject, to find out if they believe I actually hacked, or if they believe I was just joking.

You made a believable claim to have hacked. It does not matter if you were joking. Hacking, and the claims of hacking are taken very seriously on this server and have the same punishment. You should have thought twice before saying something like that.

 

I can understand it being taken as a claim, but not a believable one. I know that no one really knows me, so they can't really tell if I'm telling the truth or not, but the context in which I said it, was in a joking manner as we were talking about the server being wiped (as a joke.)

Along with everything else I posted in my ban appeal, I thought I would at least have a chance...

unfortunately not sure what good my 'belief' of wether you hacked or not would help. it would be up to the tools available to find out, and the fact that hacks/RWT/racism probably should not be joked about openly in certain places

 

I'm not gunna be using any of this thread as evidence to help support my claim of me being innocent.
I've already tried to get unbanned, and have nothing else that I can add, so I'm just wondering what the community thinks.

You made a believable claim of hacking to 73. Had you read the rules and seen the ban appeal section you would have understood there's a huge issue with hacking and how it's not tolerated on the server.

Claiming to have hacked to 73 is no better or worse than claiming to have planted bombs in buildings...

And as Kai said, threatening suicide on a public server, even if you were joking isn't not something that will help you. It's rather upsetting to those of us who _are_ actually suicidal or who _have_ lost people to suicide.

You were at work and were bored. Perhaps you should have focused a bit more on your job than making stupid claims and you wouldn't have gotten into trouble...

Instead of explaining the same thing repeatedly and appealing to the community, you should just take some time away and remember that it's just a game.

 

Pretty sure there's a pretty big difference between claiming to have hacked, and claiming to have planted bombs in a building.
I have had someone close to me kill themselves, but that doesn't mean I can't make a joke about killing myself.
As stated before, I was on break at work. Even if I wasn't, I do quite well at work.

I can't necessary 'take some time away', as I'm permanently banned, so there's no coming back after said time is up.

Oh shit, I started the hype for wipe I remember u saying u hacked and i was like omg no... u cant joke around in this server even a little

I dont think a normal person would say they hacked especially in public I mean who that is normal says that about hacking. I doubt you did bc this situation was a joking matter like usual but it doesn’t matter what we think.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm just pretty salty because I enjoyed the server and to be perma banned over something like this just seems ridiculous, especially since I know I'm innocent. I understand their viewpoint, but it's just annoying that I'm guilty until proven innocent...And even then, it doesn't seem like there's anything I can say or do to prove that.

 

I hear ya. personally I wish there was more slack in such a case but we have to see it from the other point of view as well (like you said) , imagine trying to filter through every claim of hacking/RWT and finding out all the accounts tied to it, this would take a lot of resources (and this is a private server) and a hard stance such as this may help to combat the problem (just my opinion) . could be wrong though

 

Royals is a big server, and the staff has a full time job keeping it clean from RWT and hacking. They're touchy about these matters. I'm not saying it's right that you were banned (I'd need to see the entire conversation to judge whether it's what I'd consider a "believable claim"), but it's a risk you took by choosing to joke about committing a bannable offense. If you're innocent, you got nuked from orbit in their efforts to control game breaking rule violations, and I'm sorry.

As to the jokingly threatening suicide...for those of us who deal with the urge on a regular basis, there's certainly humor to it sometimes and at some angles, but I'd rather you didn't.

 

On Royals this is the equivalence to saying "I have a bomb" at the Airport. You just dont do it fam.

 

First of all i want to say i do not know the full story so it is hard to judge but for you guys saying it's the same as bombing.. wtf. Comparing hacking on Royals to bombs on airports.. that's quite a big leap.. But since we are at it, if i would threathen/joke to bomb people but it's only talk, including a fake bomb, will i get jail time after they find out it's not true? No.. it's inconveniant and wrong but ultimately no offense was commited.

I do understand the harshness from GM's since they are battling hacking which is and will always be a big problem, (on any game for that matter). But i do not believe you truely hacked till 71 (why to 71 instead of really high lvl if you are already doing this?) and then just state this as a thruth in the shoutbox so "brag" or smth. Cannot think of 1 weak reason why someone would do this. Isn't there also a saying Innocent untill proven Guilty, not the other way around? Can't they see if you truely hacked or not?

I could see myself making this as a sarcastic joke or smth, cannot imagine if i would and it got me banned.. permanantly Maybe 1 little investigation could be started on the fact if you hacked or not or otherwise convert it to a temp ban as warning?

It wasn't a smart joke to make.. that's certain! But, i believe, jokes should be able to be made and if it really crosses lines, 1 warning before a permanent ban (if this is truely the only thing that happened)sounds fair. (considering alot of times goes into getting gud on Royals

I agree with everything you said, and even my friend who I talk to on skype said basically the same thing. Why would I hack to first of all, that low of a level, and then go and 'brag' about it on the forums...It just doesn't make sense.

I also asked for an investigation to be done, a simply check, in my second ban appeal but it was simply shut down with the same response of..."We already talked about this" etc etc...

It doesn't matter how much evidence I provide, they've already made up their mind without even giving me a chance to say anything.

I wish I could talk to @Kai personally, but I can't since he has his conversation button turned off...So I'm left with bitching about it over a general discussion chat in hopes they reconsider...But doubt it.

 

I'm not seeing any chance for your ban to be reverted. Time to move on, my friend.
