You have no idea what you're talking about. Not only will you go to jail for a long time, you will also face extreme financial repercussions. In the USA, making a bomb threat, even if it's fake is considered an act of terrorism and you can and will be sent to federal prison. Each state also has their own laws against it, so not only will you possibly have local authorities investigating you, but also the FBI and homeland security as well as ATF. Every bomb threat is treated seriously and costs the tax payers millions of dollars on a "prank".

In the UK and Europe it's not treated as seriously but you can still expect to spend up to 2 years in prison. If you made a fake bomb, as you stated, they could consider it an act of terror and actually hold you indefinitely without trial.

Long story short, don't do it. I was in the army and IEDs are not fun. Even if they're fake, take a moment to think about the guys who have to go in believing they're real to investigate or defuse them. Not so great.

As for him making a claim he hacked. Read the rules. As was stated above, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. GG move on

I do actually know what i'm talking about, u smoke too much. As if you can go to jail for years for a misplaced joke which has no truth to it in the end, do you still believe in Santa too? I didnt state that i was MAKING a bomb or REALLY using a fake bomb and actually plan/place it, i said what if in the end it's all talk, including the fake bomb. What if i say i have one and i plan to use it to bomb people but in the end i don't have one or anything that links to actually making bombs or actually planning to bomb people, fake or real, it would be idiotic ofcourse but authorities can't and won't do shit beside investigate. If you are guilty you can get jail time ofcourse, if it turns out to be a stupid joke of a high schooler prank who said these things do you truely think he will get jail time too?
Maybe what you say about the law's in America is true but i believe that's only the case when there is evidence to be found and truth to the claims, then ofc there will be penalties/jail time but Cases vary, and background stories should be heard.

I'm from holland, i have seen simular cases where on FB things were said and threaths were made but because there was no thruth to it and no evidence to be found nothing could be done about it even though it was still treated as a possible threath.

Here is an even simpler example for you, If i would say i am going to rob a bank but don't actually do it and police investigated if i did rob a bank or not, turns out i didnt and it was only empty words, do i still go to jail for years..??

Maybe you should look up our laws too first before you state i talk shit because i believe the shat is coming from your mouth, even though the law's might be alot stricter about this in America, if you are innocent in the end you will not get jail time, period.

Last off, I agree IEDs or joking about it or placing a fake one is not fun at all and to defuse it takes alot of guts and is a dangerous dirty job, but we are talking about SAYING that you have one, but in the end it's all talk, not actually placing and planning to execute a plan to harm people which then turns out to be a fake bomb, so there is no involvement of IED defusers.

You can do a simple Google search and see tons of other similar cases. Since your Dutch, there was a case recently with a man at your international airport who talked about having a bomb and was arrested a gun point. According to all the news sources I can find, he's still in prison a year later. Another 14 year old girl is in jail in the Netherlands for tweeting "I'm gonna do something really bad" to American Airlines.

Long story short, depending on the country, you're looking at anywhere from 20 years (USA) to 2 years (UK) to 6-9 months (EU) in prison for bomb jokes, threats etc. As well as the cost of the police operations, lowest I found was $50,000 USD.

You could of saved yourself a lot of embarrassment by simply google'ing "is making bomb threats illegal". Top keks...

And if you decide to ignore it, when something will actually happen, would you be able to live with yourself knowing that you could've done something instead of being naive and ignoring it?
