    Well, im sure im not the only one here on the server who is frustrated at the way to get the skillbooks from Zak, ive done 12 zak runs and still dont have my skillbook Advanced Charge Blow and being a Paladin, i dont really have any skills to use to mob other than my lvl 10 skill, so i was going to suggest another way to get the skillbooks, maybe a quest line or something along those lines, because it gets frustrating not being able to do much without the skills you need. So like a quest line, purchasing from a shop after certain things are completed or done? something along those lines, just a suggestion, thanks for reading.

    I like it the way it currently is. Your concept of selling SB in shops is more for versions that are > v100.

    The one thing I don't like about the way Zak SBs work, is that they are needed at a level earlier than a character is reasonably expected to contribute at a Zak run. So it's essentially forcing players to pay someone else to help them acquire a skillbook, unless they don't mind leveling for 15+ levels in 4th job missing their primary skill (which would gimp them if they wanted to contribute to a boss run at that point regardless.)

    Not saying that I have a problem with it per se, but it's not really great design to have those books available in a way that a character cannot obtain on their own merits.

    Edit: And just to clarify, I'm only talking about skillbooks, not mastery books. (so things like TT 10, ACA 10, ACB 10)

    Nothing comes free. For some skills, you'll have to go through an irritatingly long quest to obtain it. For others, you'll have to attend bosses like Zakum to get it. And mind you, you only need to pay if it drops! So if it doesn't, you don't lose anything.

    well to be fair you lose out on like an hour with the run itself and the organizing, thats a far heavier price than the 20m

    What I dislike about current skillbook system is how they are distributed all over the place. For example, Brandish 30, Hurricane 30 come from Papulatus, an easy boss to kill that you farm for daily NX, versus some other skill like Assassinate 30 that only drops from Guild Party Quest, or worse, skills like Berserk 30, Triple Throw 30 that only drop from Horntail. Some class have it easy to get all the core skills maxed without much trouble, while some other suffer greatly due to the availability only from certain high level bosses.

    It would be nicer, in my opinion, to have all the lv30 main attacking skills to drop from one particular boss. Make Papulatus drop all the lv10 skillbooks, Zakum lv20 skillbooks, and so on.

    Welcome to playing a game, especially an RPG. Fighting mobs and bosses don’t always guarantee an outcome and sometimes have to be fought multiple times.

    Zakum and the different skill books it may or may not drop is literally just like an RPG boss from other games of this type.

    I know it's very frustating sometimes,
    You have to attend into zakum for starting books;
    You have to pay millions (or billions) for a book and it fails;

    But the game is like it is.
    I remember at GMS when they released the "All Skills Book" (idk how it was named tbh)
    With which you could max ANY skill you had, in ANY job, with only ONE book, that you could buy from a NPC... (which costs like 10m or smt)

    Making the game too easy was one of the biggest things that made most of us (nostalgic players) to give up on GMS.
    Don't do that here too.

    Also, just to clarify here, im fine with how all the skillbooks are and how you get them with the grind and all pass and fail, im just talking about the starting ones like TT10 ACA ACB, thats the only thing i was suggesting, because i still have no starting book and its become a total pain in the a**, the book never drops and i spend a hour on the run like it was stated, the pot burn each time and the smegas, gets to take its toll sadly
