Nevermelting Snow (along with the food items for mom and dad) are untradeable this year. Seeing as this part of the event is collaborative it would be nice to be able to share my snow with my friends and guildies as I have in the past. I saw no problem with the snow being untradeable last year. The food being untradeable isn't so much of a problem because while annoying, the droprate for it is fine and you only need 4 things every (6?) hours.
I think it's untradable this year to prevent people from going on 10 accounts at the same time like last year. And hogging maps.
I had to read this 4 times to kind of understand what you were saying, but whatever it is, all the power to you Chris
exactly this, pretty ridiculous how last year people with 30 accounts got ez red socks all day. Having so many accounts really shouldnt be encouraged and I am all for this year's change
That makes sense, but would there be another way to solve this issue? I remember back in 2015, the GM Events (I miss them btw) used to have warnings stating that you are only allowed to participate in the event with one character. Can the same concept be implemented with this Snowblower event or would it be too complex?
Voted no. Simply because of my trauma last year where I fought snowman with 2 other people and it took us 20minutes+ to kill it. Then suddenly there were 20 of us active in the map!! Good riddance, afk mules.
I have tons of them too =/ About the topic itself: I could give on two ideas for the staff, in case they would apply something about this. Change the way you get the reward to something like did on Anniversary Cake (minimun damage) or increase the damage the snowman do (afk mules would die)
Minimum damage doesn't prevent mules unfortunately.(should've seen the amount of people just hitting minimum and afking) Increasing damage would make the fight too hard for islanders/low level players. I dont have any solution, just pointing out that the ones above will not change much.
Initially, I thought the problem was that there were just too many mules AFKing, but I'm assuming the issue is deeper than that? Does it have something to do with the surplus of Nevermelting Snow saved up from previous years and individuals using this as profit? Because this untradeable concept was only implemented towards the Nevermelting Snow, not the Sunshine, Halloween Candies, etc (unless that was forgotten and I have jinxed it ). Or maybe this is a smart way to prevent people from excessively farming Red Socks.
well however i dont like untradeable snow i do want to keep it this way. Now if you wanna put 20 mules in a map you need to get 100 snow on each of the 20 mules witch takes alot time. Im doing this on my 2 main accounts and its costing me alot time to farm snow (i 50/50% attack on both accs so their both usefull at the snowman) 100% afkmules should get a kick or higher dmg on the snowman to kill em
I believe they might do this in most of upcoming events, Specially the ones which gives really good rewards.
Let's be honest tho, the only reason why the maple tree and snow blower went off so frequently was because people brought in multiple characters at the same time. +1 for the tradeable nevermelting snow/ingredients.
That is true, many rich people would buy thousands of snow to farm socks. And that's exactly why they made it untradeable.
Never melting snow was never really expensive tho, like op said most people just gave out extra event etc to their friends and guild mates. Furthermore, it seems like most people I talked to haven't really been doing snowman as frequently compared to last year mainly because of this change. (Or maybe cause they rather just do HT instead)
The issue isn't the ammount of money involved, but the number of socks. I knew people who farmed dozens of socks on the last year event.
Also, the untradeable snow really affects on some jobs like NL and corsair, whose skill is not really mobbing, AOE, mobility. Gonna take like an hour to pick 100 snows just for a single time in snowman
I believe this is why we added stacks of snows to all bosses in the game. Although it's possible that some of the main bosses HT/Krex/Zak could do with having a few more stacks drop.
I mean attack multiple mobs while moving! "I believe this is why we added stacks of snows to all bosses in the game. Although it's possible that some of the main bosses HT/Krex/Zak could do with having a few more stacks drop." Well, I don't know bosses drop stacks of snows!! My bad
