I have never played a Hermit, so hopefully there'll be a lot of good advice coming from experienced Hermits after me. I just wanted to being by asking, where have you tried training so far?
Windraiders (Lower Ascent or Crossroads) is a common place to train for many jobs, including Rangers and Snipers. If you haven't already, give it a shot. You could also try some bosses, like Headless Horseman or Capt. Latanica (need help from a DK for extra HP, I believe). They both give really good EXP for single-target classes like Hermits.

Good luck and Happy Mapling! :)

At Ghost Ship, assuming you are killing Slimys, you will get less than 0.14 EXP per HP (or damage done)
Windraiders gets you 0.16 EXP per the same damage dealt.
I am pretty sure this will turn out to be more efficient than your current training spot. In the meantime while waiting for expert NLs' advice, you should try Windraiders! ;)
