Super donor forum status

Hey, this is only a ''status suggestion'' and pure interest, and I know it shouldn't be a game who donates the most. It's just something I want to know about the server who the top 10 donors are.

Is it possible to give the top 10 donors are super donor status?
Perhaps they appreciate a little extra for supporting the server so much as they donate a lot. I mean obviously it's for them to chose how they want to contribute, but why not.. Right?

Hmm, I see where you're coming from but what if you just give it to the top 10 and the ones that don't want/have a forum account simply get it whenever they want to... It's still realistic, it's just not visible for everyone.

 

With that logic, people should be also able to request to be removed from the rankings, stay there invisible, then get their spots back whenever they want. All that would do is lead to a false, meaningless list.

I wouldn't mind a top 10 donor list, though I don't see the point.

As for 'Super donor status', to me that would just be a bragging thing so I don't support that.

 

I would not like to see this because to be honest, it's no one's business how much I donate to the server. If I donate $1M, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable with people knowing I'm one of the top 10 donors. The only purpose I see it for is for bragging rights really.

 

I see it as just a way to show off that someone has more money they can spend.
It's just a way to brag imo.

Plus more color changes for names on the forums, if that were to be a thing, would be even more confusing. I wouldn't be surprised if some newbie mistook donator status as staff already too. (I know I did once when I first joined, before I read the legend).

How is contributing bragging?
If we're talking about status, a blood donor wouldn't donate his blood to get in the news papers.. If he is the top one to do it (and yes they are in news papers) when it comes to huge amounts. It's just interesting to see/read.

Do you think that you yourself are one of the top donators? Because in that case your example is flawed.

The people who donate blood don't ASK to have their name published in the newspaper.

You ARE asking for the names to be published.

That's a big difference in my opinion, and that difference does make it look like this would be purely for bragging purposes.

They don't have their name published? Then what's that top 10 about? Perhaps not in the newspapers but they're definitely any elsewhere. And no I'm far FAR away from the top donors. I donated a small amount. I don't see why you're assuming me to be the top donor when I'm clearly stating it's about interest. First off: I have not attacked you, nor have I judged you. You might want to re-read what I typed and you'll realise that yourself.

Seriously, did you even properly read what I typed? Seems like you didn't, because nothing in your reply is accurate.

 

People who donate blood do it to help save another's life.
They don't do it just to get their name on a top 10 list.
People who donate to Royals, MOST of the time they do it to get a donator item. There's a few who purely do it to help support the server I bet- but it's easy to say the majority do it because they want the donator items.
Getting a top 10 list of who donated the most is basically pointing out who has the most money to spend on a game.

Besides, contributions to the server isn't only monetary. People who put in their time and effort to help keep the server going and support it even when it's having a rough time are just as much contributors as donators. The players who stick around even through the down times, are people who contribute to the server just as much.

 

Wow the hostility in this thread sure is piling up quick.

OT: I'm cool with it, so long as the top donators confirm they want it displayed through a message or something.

Another thought, this could require time and effort to setup I'd rather see directed to something in game related. I'd rather have a few more bugs fixed than a donator status system set up.

 

It's so sad to see a bad idea gaining so much attention from the forums. Every week I see a nice feedback and people don't even give the proper attention.

It's not a BAD idea per se.

If you want other suggestions to get more attention you could always bump those old threads (if that is allowed on these forums).

This isn't a high-priority or game-altering suggestion, but that doesn't make it bad. Some people might like it, others don't. That's the case with pretty much every suggestion.

Not a direct judgement, but you're claiming I assume to be the top donor. And you were directing to this to be for bragging purposes, did you not? Judging ME to be a bragger. Get it now? So I did very well read what you said. Also on third. You didn't even bother to properly reply to what I really said.


OT: I understand the other peoples view on this, I just want to say once again. I am no where near the top donor of this server (especially because I spread it over two accounts).

Perhaps I'm the only one feeling this isn't to brag. Like I said contributing doesn't necessarily mean bragging.

I stated that your example is flawed IF you consider yourself to be one of the top donators yourself. That's a big if, and never did I say I think you consider yourself to be just that.

And for that reason, I neither judged you, nor (even indirectly) called you a bragger.

claiming that I'm 'too stubborn' is just taking the easy way out. You replied to something that you clearly misinterpreted, then act like I'm the bad guy.

I could argue that YOU are the one judging someone here.

 

When I do a good deed, like donate, do service, help someone out, or anything else, I don't do it looking for acclaim.
