Hi, So just a couple minutes ago, I got my first ever White Scroll on the server from the NLC gach along with some 10% scrolls. After using up all my gach tickets, I started scrolling using the 10% scrolls with the Alchemist scrolling skill. There was no warning at all or any message that popped up asking me if I wanted to use up my white scroll and it used up the White Scroll. I know there's a pop up when scrolling without the skill but would it be possible to add it to when we use the skill? Probably was the same with the original MS but I feel like this would be possible. Thanks!
You probably missed out unchecking the tick at the bottom. There is no pop-up warning to confirm whether a WS is to be used or not and always have been this way. I am certain that you're not the only victim of this but just learn from your mistake and not to overlook something new to you (i assume) - the legendary spirit skill.
It's also not possible to add a warning as it would need to be done in the client. When you scroll an item, whether it be regularly or with Legendary Spirit, the server only receives a packet containing information about what equip you are scrolling, which scroll is being used, if you have chosen to use a white scroll, and if you are using Legendary Spirit. The server then responds with the result, updates the inventory accordingly, and broadcasts any animations. There would not be a way to put anything in between those actions without breaking the scrolling process.
There is a pop up message when you're scrolling equipped items. The issue is with the Legendary Spirit that doesn't. Happened this with me before too, I didn't notice the White Scroll mark in the skill window and it was used up. If there is no way to add that popup to the skill itself, would there be a way to leave the White Scroll mark to be always unselected?
I understand the issue. The pop up message when scrolling regularly is automatically done by the client if you have a white scroll in your inventory, as is the box being automatically ticked in Legendary Spirit if you have a white scroll in your inventory. Having the box be unticked regardless of whether or not you have a white scroll in your inventory is also not possible as the default action by the client when enabling the use of the tickbox is to have it be ticked. The only possible option we have would be to NOP (No Operation) the instruction in the client for the tickbox. However this would disable use of the tickbox entirely, regardless of whether or not you have a white scroll in your inventory, just like how it works when you do not have a white scroll in your inventory, and I feel that is not a good solution.
I can empathize with OP's feelings, since I did the same thing after getting my first white scroll. However, I just want to point out that mistakes in the other direction (not using a white scroll when you intend to use one) could be much worse. I have a friend who bought a perfect +1 stonetooth (7B). He scrolled a 10% directly on it with WS in his inventory (i.e. not using the legendary spirit skill). The pop up shows, but his hand slipped and accidentally clicked "no". The 10% failed and he is left with a 116WA 5 slots stonetooth. That's probably a 5B+ loss. I have also heard someone forgot to use a WS on the 5th slot. Imagine how that would feel, months of savings turning into nothing. These accidents will definitely be more frequent if legendary spirit defaults to not using WS. Therefore, I am happy with the current setting, even if it causes people (including me) to accidentally use a few WS. Also, one simple solution that can be done on player's side: never keep WS in your inventory if you are not using or selling them. After I started putting WS in storage or in mules, I never accidentally used one again.
This is why I immediately store any CS/WS that fall into my hands. If I didn't accidentally use them on something, I'd probably NPC them.
I experienced the same thing yesterday and haven't got over it. I still had some golden eggs left over from the event. Got a pig's belt and decided to 100% scroll it...clicked too fast and bam!!!! one WS used for a 100% scroll........ -______________-|||
A tip I can give to anyone in the same situation: If you have white scrolls, put them in your storage or a second character untill you know you actually want to use the white scroll(s). It is sooo easy to forget to uncheck that "Use whitescroll" box. Happened to me once as well.
Yeah, immediately after that I stored my remaining stash in storage. Still can't get over it though. 1WS gone for a 100% scroll. OTL
So i just got a white scroll for the first time from the event cake boss treasure map and was very excited. I also had a wand that i was interested in 30%ing but definitely not wasting a white scroll on it. I scroll it and it bombs but I'm fine cuz i just made roughly 400m today. A few minutes later i go looking for my white scroll, checking all over my inventory and panicking thinking i dropped it or somehow when i item smega'd it it disappeared. Nope. A friend mentions to me did i uncheck the white scroll box that I've never checked (or ever been able to for that matter) before i scrolled my wand. You can guess the answer. It sucks cuz i had no idea it would auto check and nothing probably can be done about it so that's great. Atleast we have the advice of "well next time be more careful" lol.
Hate to resurrect an old post (Google brought me here) but this exactly scenario I quoted happened to me. Had already spent Billions on a perf ST, accidentally hit “no” on the WS use, failed scroll; lost slot, no longer perfect weapon. Incredible that so much time and effort can be wasted on one mis-click. Can anything be done about this?
