I thought the answer would be obvious but it seems like there are diverse opinions about this topic. Vote or tell me your thoughts

    Sorry. I mean the world.
From someone who came from a 3rd world country and have witnessed the lack of space, my opinion might be biased.
But statistically, it took human 12000 years to reach 1.65 billion people, but only the last 200 years to jump to 7.35 billion people. It won't even take us 100 years to double our population if we keep growing exponentially.
Living in the US, many had told me we have plenty of space (America that is) and overpopulation is not a problem to be worried about. But the earth can only support up to 10 billion people, not mentioning the rate that we're damaging and wasting resources on Earth.
Perhaps that by the time we're fucked (in 70+ years), you won't be here anymore so many don't even care. But it bothers me to see that many people I have ever talked with give me the "overpopulation is a myth" card, so we just keep mindlessly fucking and hoping someone or something will solve our problem for us

From my point of view, It's normal for Earth to be overpopulated and resources on Earth will eventually be depleted. BUT, technology will enable us to colonize planets in the near future (e.g Mars). Overpopulation may seem to be the end of the world but I'm sure that we(human beings) are able to adapt/SURVIVE and colonizing may be a step forward for humanity( I might have played too much Starcraft lol). So whats there to worry about if there are things to worry in the Present Time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯?:p

Edit: China also controls their population by implementing the 2-child policy(used to be 1).

We're almost there! Zero population growth is incredibly difficult to achieve since if one person doesn't conform to the set conditions for it, the whole system fails. All we can do, besides limiting the amount of natural resources we use, is let nature take its course and solve the problem one way or another; probably for the good of Earth - not us

Technology wears out. Placing complete trust in it when colonizing other planets is a very scary thing, and may frankly be necessary for our species' survival.
