whats with the hackers in pianus

i was going through searching for a pianus and in 6 different chs there were what seems to be hackers they are on the map all day and as soon as you get close they disappear untill u go far enough away and poof there they are again... what are they doing here are they stealing loots getting spawn timer or what?

 

What makes you think they hack ?

 

I've seen something similar at Skeles, for example. I am grinding there, and every now and then a person (mostly the exact same one) appears for a fraction of a second (sometimes even "in" a monster) just to disappear again. I don't know what this is, and I cannot say it's hacking, but it is certainly odd and suspicious.

 

Just characters who are stuck right? You see this sometime in fm too

 

He's telling the truth, I was in a party of 4 hunting painus. We split up to check channel separate. The guy loaded into my channel below the portal, then disappeared. He instantly showed up on the next channel, which my friend was checking. Then the next one, and the next one. After that we lost track of him. You can't CC inside there, somehow he was able too. Also, none of us could see his name.

 

At first I thought this thread was none sense but after your explanation it might be worth to check. What time did this happen? I asume you don’t have an ign right? You can’t change channels inside but you can do so on the map before

 

Correct, you can CC in the map before. But if you do it there, it then kicks you back another map when you CC, to outside the cave. There is no way he was able to CC through 4 channels in 10 seconds. It's impossible... I dunno if you can VIP rock there, but that would seem like a massive waste of meso/nex. And I still don't think you could do it in 10 seconds.

The only reason we noticed it was because we were all on discord. I saw him appear below the door which was weird. So I said on discord, "a guy just loaded into the boss map, I thought you couldn't load in here if you d/c. Don't you appear outside?". Then my friend said, "oh you mean the this brown guy?". The character had brown skin and just basic assassin gear. Then the guy on the next channel entered the boss map and saw him there. He CC'd again as soon as that friend entered and our 4th guy saw him on his channel next.

I can also relate to this, I went hunting for the fish in the morning, AU time and was thinking what the heck is going on. Every time I went to the next channel I got a slight glimpse of the hacker, then they suddenly just disappear within a second.

There is most definitely something going on here, based on the number of witnesses. Maybe it's a good idea for a GM to look closer into this map (and most likely they already have - however the hacker might already have been frightened away if he reads the forum)

Today I found something else that was weird in Pianus' cave. This is probably something wholly different though:


As you can see, there's a Magician BELOW the bottom floor. I have no idea how he got there. He stayed there for all the time while Pianus were killed. Maybe some sort of lag/stuck online stuff?

 

Were you able to click on him?

 

That's what so stupid about me. I logged off after killing Pianus, and then I got that very idea, that I should click him... of course he was gone at that time. *facepalm*

Can confirm that the same thing happened to me too. It happened in a split second, someone appeared to the left of the Pianus map (where you can't cc) and disappeared as soon as he sees me without leaving by the portal

 

A friend of mine seen those floating around, I was with her and I didn't see a thing



And not to forget, this lovely piece of ass.


If your friend there didn't see shit then it might've been a ..visual glitch?
or are you 100% sure it was a hacker? as in, it was attacking the pianus?

Oh I remember 1 time there was a ghost in FM like that that when you went up she disappeared and you couldn't click on her name lol

 

I have reported that issue to Matt (administrator). He came to me during Pianus fight and explained that it's a visual bug, the character that magically appeared wasn't even online.

 

zzz this visual glitch is too common in New source. There used to be a "statue" of my drk in ch1 FM entrance for 3 days . I wonder what's the cause behind them.
