Currently you can't buy power elixir from any NPC and have to owl/ask people for it which is kinda troublesome. Power elixir is quite useful for characters like bishops or others with lower HP/MP cause with ginger ale you can die due to the pot not healing enough. Now that LMPQ got nerfed less people do it too so the supply of power elixir is lower and it's harder to find. I think there should be a merchant who sells them, as well as some other potions. Perhaps have alcaster sell it together with all cure and rocks when you complete his questline, or the merchant in leafre.
I disagree that they should be purchasable from an NPC, regardless if locked behind a questline. A limited supply of the best HP/MP potion in the game is a healthy thing for the server. They are quite easily obtainable from Gachapon and gives some worth to getting those potions, with a fluctuating value set by market demand, rather than having a capped price. I have thousands of them that I have no use for if you want to buy some.
Curiously a few weeks ago (before new year) I was trying hard to sell my powers for 5k ish, and couldn't, And now somehow they're selling easily for 7k ish. People gather tons of them at ulu/petris/skele etc One hour at petris I could get more powers than I use them myself.
Ginger Ale heals, what, 60%? So why not just slide your auto-pot up some closer to midway? If you put it at 50%, your pet will apply the potion whenever you drop below it. This ensure you're always getting fully healed and you're only 'wasting' a few percent of the overall healing the potion could handle.
It's the best potion out there, so I think it's reasonable to not make it purchasable from any existing NPC. Also, this is what I have after farming at ulu1 for ~2 weeks. Spoiler For what it's worth, the drop rate is super high and you can get around 80-100 of it if you're a Bishop 1 hitting within an hour, give or take.
I have at least 6 or 7 mules (if not more) with all 72 etc slots (4*6*3) full of 100 stacks of power elixirs. You get them super easy from petri leech.
Yea petri is a huge source of them if you can 1 hit them. I can get more powers than I use while grinding there
If you are fighting horntail, and you get hit with an attack that lowers your hp from 100% to 25%, the potion will only heal you to 85%. Next hit from 85% to 10% back up to 70% and one last time and your dead. Even if you have pet hp at 90%, the pet wont use a pot until you get hit one more time, even if you weren't at 90%. Thus anyone at HT fighting with around 11k hp should be using power elixirs. (this is also why @godys is selling power elixirs easier now)
My NL has 9.4k hp and I use ales. Tbh it just requires you to pay a tiny bit of attention to pot occasionally. On topic, I don't really see any reason to sell PE from a merchant but at the same time I doubt it would make a very big difference to anything.
On one hand, it would be a way to sink a bit more mesos, since most people would stop buying ales for them. On the other hand, there are many people who make a few meso by selling those at FM, and they wouldn't get as much if they're available at NPC.
