Sorry for confusing you. You are right, P Slime has nothing to do with this, I merely used it as a symbol of "the mob which drops everything you need" Having Mithril drop from, say Berserkies would lead to an excessive supply and there would be no incentive what so ever to maybe go explore a new area to find Mithril. The excessive supply would solve your problem, but is this what we really want? (altering the game for it to fit and simply our goals with it) Sorry if my writing is upsetting to you. It can be edgy, but I mean no harm. All I'm trying to do is to make you (and many others) see problems from multiple perspective
Hey, I totally agree with you but here it is, some people (90% people here) doesn't want to explore anything, all they want is to get stronger everyday, being rich, ... Not many people want to explore a thing. I can see the dev release the medal of maps to encourage people explore stuffs and quests, ... So for that reason, Mithrils help them by going boss run, selling HTP, SB, getting stronger, bla bla ... For that reason I made the post. Hope you can understand, hahaha D
and because they help high level players get stronger, shouldnt mithrils be more expensive? i personally feel that the prices are very affordable and the increase in price helps new players discover new training/farming spots as it gives them a new revenue source.
That's how it works though. They're hard to find and high in demand = high prices... but I agree with the other poster, we cant just increase drop rates because it sucks to farm them. If they weren't used for HT they'd be pretty much worthless. No clue. Probably more 5 or 6 an hour? I don't know. I spent 15 levels , 25 to 40 at scorpions. Don't listen to him. He just hoards everything he gets from farming on his mage. lol
They can be used for crafting DSC - an end game weapon for Bucc, not really useless tho ... So i suggest keep the drop rate but add it to leeching mobs like skele, ulu, ...
Essentially useless. People who aim for a DSC want a perfect one (usually), and putting a spawn of mithril ore in a map like Ulu 1 or 2 would do the same thing. The amount of people who farm Ulu greater outpaces all the other mithril ore locations combined. (I'm qualifying, I don't have numbers, but given the mesos/hr of drops and the amount of leeching, it's a safe bet).
If anything, we should be looking to take things away from ULU, NOT add to them. You can't expect a spot that offers good leech mesos/hour, one of the best npc mesos/hour, and now also make it the best place for mithril. Mithril should stay how it is, it gives people training their first character a source of much needed early game income, as someone previously posted it won't be worth to farm mithril until they hit a certain price point - and even if that happens, stopper prices will go back up and it'll become a neverending back and forth battle between the two.
This. Sometimes I'm tempted to make a feedback thread asking to increase the duration of Holy Symbols to 12 minutes because I always forget to recast it while leeching because I'm watching a tv show on the side. But at the end of the day, what makes old-school MapleStory so charming is its incessant, mind-numbing grindfest. And suggestions of convenience such as this seem ultimately counterintuitive on low-rate servers like Royals.
Here are some conveniences that I find it not like old-school Maplestory: - Hunting 1 Manon instead get 1 Manon's cry for the dragon exlixer (1 of the end game boss like HT shouldn't have what so easy preQ like this, also the Gen of BS shouldn't be so easy like this) - Make CS dropped from Lyka ( CS is 1 of the ultimate scroll for a good weapon, it should be only from gach)
CS is a regular drop from Lyka in GMS. They did remove it before, and put it back in now. Only the Manon thing is something "new"
Manon is also needed for job advancement. The change allowed people to come together and kill manon. Now it isn't hunted so desperately for it's drop, and so people doing their advancement won't have to wait for a manon to spawn and fight off high levels who want to boss. Now people advancing and people looking to boss can kill the same manon. Mithril ores can be bought, and can be farmed on your own time though and are 100% independent off spawn timers.
When i first joined Royals i had an expectaion to horntail someday. I remembered back on gms how much of a pain it was to get mithril ore then. Here with the higher drop rates I pretty much prioritized my training locations from the time i first started royals to now, to focus on mobs that dropped mithril ore. Im not saying i did it all the time, but if a mob was a few exp lower than another but that lower exp mob dropped mithril id train there instead. Today i have probably 200 mithril ore snd 30 plates laying around. And thats after loaning out loads of it to friends and guildies!
The current price of mithril does not reflect the hard work, grit, and determination that I put into amassing this hot fresh stack of sweet, sweet ores I'll part with my lovelies for 30m each. I have a strong emotional bond with these ores, but everyone has a price. until then, Spoiler: spoiler
Hi it's me your long lost cousin. Aunt always told me to care for each other, and now I need 10 mithril plates to bring glory to our family's name. Please send some, thank you.
Tbh a bit of a buff wouldn’t harm. I have farmed at bubblings old source as well as oblivion 2 and the drop rate now seems really low compared to old source. Even farming at scorpions is not what I expected
