My pants smell like plastic.what do I do?

Got a pair of pants. Cheeeeeeeap, China, pants. I like them but they smell like plastic. Total turn off. I've washed it 3 times (without wearing it) still smells like plastic and a little bit like poop. I don't know if it's one of those smells that only you can smell but no one else can. But My butt looks fantastic in them and it's so hard to find pants I like on me .. What would you do?

Cut off the pant legs, as per the image, this will decrease the intensity of the smell by about 80%

My suggestions (I'm sensitive to off smells):

1. Put them in the washer with a double dose of detergent, and let them soak for several hours. Then wash with an extra rinse cycle.
2. If they still stink, use a fabric softener (which tend to be highly fragranced), and an extra rinse cycle.
3. Hang them up outside (you can use clothespins or binder clips on a balcony railing, if needed) overnight.
4. They make scent boosters for both the wash and dry cycles now.
5. Hang in closet, burn incense in closet (carefully).
6. Color safe bleach.

 

and your booty will still look fantastic

 

Not gonna lie I was skeptical, but I tried the soak and the fabric softener and it smells a lot better.
